Los Angeles news anchors are any Greek?

HI All,

I was just curious - does anyone know of any Los Angeles news anchors (on either the big three ABC, CBS, NBC, or the locals such as KTLA and Fox LA) are members of a Greek organization.

The Alumnae Panhellenic I belong to was thinking about having an honored guest or a speaker at our Scholarship benefit. I had suggested perhaps a local news anchor if any of them were members of a sorority or even a fraternity.

Wow, I've only been away from Los Angeles for a year and I'm already forgetting things.

Blonde, very likable, does local news. I'll come up with her name.

Okay, I'm back and I got it. It's Ann Martin! I can't believe I forgot her name.

Anyone in L.A. would know who she is. (Does KCAL News and CBS -- been around for quite a while.)

Now I'm wondering about Michelle Tuzee. Hey, where's Dateline NBC filmed? Sara James is a Kappa Delta.

That would be great if you could get Ann Martin or any L.A. newscaster to speak. Good luck with that!

My vote is for Dallas Raines

...the coolest name for a meteorologist by far! I don't know if he's greek, though.

Aww, good ol' Dallas Raines. I love that guy.

I would always try to watch him do the weather since he's actually a meteorologist (as opposed to that clown Fritz Coleman). Dallas went to FSU -- that's all I know.

Now I'm wondering about Michele Tuzee, Tawny Little, Laura Diaz, Christine Lund, Laurel Erickson, Vikki Vargas, Sharon Tay, and Colleen Williams. Can any groups claim them?

Dateline NBC is filmed in NYC (the national news capital).

Adrienne Alpert is a Gamma Phi. I'm not sure if she's on air right now...you might remember she was badly injured when the news van she was in was struck by lightening a few years ago. I think she was either at KTLA or KTTV then, I can't remember. I always wanted to hear her story.

If Vicki Vargas is the same one that used to be a Las Vegas anchor, I believes she's a Sigma Kappa.

Lu Parker, an anchor with KTLA is an ADPi and was also Miss USA 1994. Lu was an anchor with our local WB TV affiliate before moving to LA two years ago. The school where I was teaching was having a Career Day and I called Lu to see if she would be a participant. Lu came and gave a very inspirational speech to all the students and she talked to them about pursuing their dreams. She's also written a book ,Catching the Crown, which is about her pageant and life experiences. We all found her to be genuine and the students loved her! Lu's website is www. luparker.com.
