Pet Peeves
Hello everyone... I was just wondering if you all had any pet peeves? Mine are mostly grammatical.
Mine...
when people dont know the difference between, "to" and "too".
or
when people use "P.S.S" instead of "P.P.S"
(eg, Post post script)

Here's mine:
1. When you're at a stop light and your back bumper and the front bumper of the person behind are 2 inches apart!
2. When music is playing and someone near you is tapping to the beat and they are totally off key!
3. When people leave their turning signals on after they turn.
4. People who say Cheerleaders aren't athletes. We work just as hard as other athletes.
5. People who think they are better than everyone else based on looks, money, social status, etc...
6. People who try too hard to be "accepted".
Eli: how's #6? ( too and to ). I know where you're coming from on the too/to issue!
I have a lot of P.P. Hope y'all enjoyed reading them

 Yep!
I guess I can add two more:
#3. People traveling in the passing lane.
#4. Not just people playing music too loud in their cars, but people that do not have the system to support the loud volume when they attempt to play their music (eg, factory stereos at volume ten).

I totally agree w/ you on #s 1,3 and especially 4! I was a cheerleader all through out high school and we definitely worked out and practiced just as hard as the other "real" sports teams. But then when we'd bring back 1st place trophies, they couldn't seem to find anything bad to say! But I digress.
Eli, the stereo thing is the worst! It's like "get a new system if you're gonna play it for everyone to hear".

Okay Here's mine,
1. People who call your house and say, "Your number was on my caller i.d., why'd you call me" I have 3 sisters, and both my parents, we all use the phone, like I know why someone called, maybe your number was on our caller i.d. lol.
2. People who cannot correctly utilize double turn lanes. Those who switch lanes half-way through.
3. People who don't click over when they have call waiting. There is a reason you pay extra for that.
4. People who talk behind your back to your friends. Don't they realize that you know all they say.
I have a ton more, but that's enough for now.

1) People that brown nose. They make me physically sick.
2) People that proceed a stupid question with "I hope this isn't a stupid question, but...". We all know that while most questions are not stupid and are simply informational, there are some that are truly stupid.
3) People that make public, obnoxious assumptions that they try to turn into a joke (you know what they say about assuming..., & I have a special look for these people that finishes that statement.)
4) Smart dummies. You know, people that think they know everything, but tend to know nothing.
5) People that have all the room in the world to walk around (in malls), and walk up close behind me (as if that's going to make me walk any faster, walk around!).
6)People that are having a bad breath day that insist on sitting next to you, proceed to talk your head off, & then have the nerve to refuse a stick of gum (hint and a half...) --- don't laugh this happened to me and I almost died from nausea. If I can smell it, I know you must be able to at least taste it.

Kymberleigh,
I agree with your #1 reason.
I have to disagree with your call waiting pet peeve (#3). I feel if you are talking to someone, it is disrespectful to tell that person, "I'll be right back." Afterall, you were on the phone with that person first. If the other person is important, they will call back. If not, you did not miss anything.
Your #4 reason I totaly agree with you on that one too!! (But don't forget, "people are naturally social"). I mean, if you wanted to keep something a secret, would you tell a friend your "secret" to begin with?

Ok, here are a few of my pet peeves.
1)I really hate it when I get one of those rare days to sleep in, and my whole family decides to talk really loud right outside my bedroom door(it drives me crazy)
2)When you borrow a friend's cd to burn, but it doesn't work because there are a coule little scratches on it
3)When you are talking to someone on the phone and they start eating(gross, i really don't want to hear people chewing their food)

Honeybee, I hate that too when people eat on the phone. That's really sick. Ok I got another one: when you go to the bathroom, do your business and there's NO toilet paper! Aaaaggghhh! I can't stand when people don't replace it! That's the worst!

ZChi4Life,
The toilet paper thing is REALLY disgusting. Especially when you're in a public bathroom and you have to ask the person that's crapping next to you if you can have some of their toilet paper

Well if that's the case, you shouldn't have call waiting!
On the subject of phones, I hate when people don't leave a message on your answering machine. I also hate when they just let it ring like 3 times. If you're in the other room, you don't have time to get to it!
I hate it when people drive SUV's but don't know how to drive them. I'm not trying to be sexist, but it seems like it's usually the women I see (soccer moms) that drive them like they own the road. They think they're in a tank and nothing can hurt them. I have seen guys that can't drive them either though.
I hate when you're in a long line of traffic, because of construction, or whatever, and people think they can get in the other lane, or on the shoulder, zoom up to the front, and get in up there. I do all I can to not let them in, but someone always does.
I hate when people push their way to the front of the line at an amusement park. It's usually foreigners or some 12 year old punk kids. When they tell them (the foreigners) to get to the back, they say they don't speak English. It's always funny when someone then tells them in their own language!

UGH! That makes me sooooo angry! Weren't we all taught not to skip, like in Kindergarten!?! I just about lose my mind when this happens. Like they're more important than the rest of us. Like, they're the only ones with more pressing things to do than wait in traffic...
I never let them in because I know someone else will. I always make sure as I pass them, to give them my "shame on you" disgusted look. Shaking my head and all. I know, I know....They could care less. But, it makes me feel better.

You know what's worse than having wet socks? Having wet socks and not knowing what you stepped in, especially if you have a pet in the house! It ain't so bad if you know it's just water!

My biggest pet peeve is grammatical too. I HATE it when people misuse an apostrophe. Everywhere I go, I see things improperly pluralized. The 's is meant to be used when something belongs to someone. When there is more than one of something, it should just be an s or an es.
Its gotten so bad, that I've considered taking around a magic marker to correct signs that are wrong.
