Care of Leather Furniture

We got leather sofas awhile back and it was one of the best decisions we ever made. However...does anybody have hints on taking care of it?

We got a couple of bottles of leather conditioner when we bought our leather sofa. About once a month I rub it in with a microfiber cloth, and it prevents cracking and drying. Other than that, they are pretty easy to take care of. I'm not sure where you can buy it, but try the place you bought them - they may give you some conditioner or tell you where to buy it.

There are two products by Lexol -- cleaner and conditioner -- that someone recommended I use for cleaning the leather seats in my car. They are excellent. Spray on the cleaner, let it sit for a while, then wipe it off with a damp cloth. Rub on the conditioner to keep it from getting hard and cracking.

I purchase the products at a good auto parts store or car shows, but you can order it on line at www.lexol.com .

Our cat ignored the leather furniture, but when we brought kitty #2 home, the two of them chase each other, launching from the arms of the couches and chair. So we have pin-pricks from their back paws, and superficial scratches. I too would love to know how to repair leather.
