Happy Single's Awareness Day

I just wanted to wish all my fellow single's out there a Happy Single's Awareness Day. We all know that that is what Valentine's Day really is - a holiday that all the non-singles use to throw our single-hood into our face.

Well, my fellow singles, I call on you to unite. Do not despair. Order Chinese takeout, rent a movie, and sit at home thinking - thank God I didn't get flowers, I don't like flowers, I don't have a place for them, and I have bad allergies too.

No seriously, I hope that everyone does have a wonderful Single's Awareness Day (or Valentine's Day for all you sell-outs

) and that we should all remember that our Prince (or Princess) Charming will come along.

He may just be in a beat-up El Camino.

Why is it inherently negative to be single???

I really much prefer it myself. . . keep my options open.

I am just not a romantic type of person. I got the whole dozen roses and candles and rose petals deal for my last b-day and while I appreciated effort (I don't mean to sound ungrateful), I just wasn't that impressed by it.

Hope all the couples do have a very happy Valentine's day -- I know some people just love romantic stuff!!

. . . I won't complain if I get some chocolates though - who could complain about that!!

Alas, I'm single too. Its not the romance I miss. Its the lovin' Not to be crass but it's been forever since I got the oil changed, tires rotated and interior vacuumed. I always feel guilty because a lot of my brothers can hook up with anything or anyone. Not me, I dont do one nighters. Just doesnt work out for me. Tomorrow, my date is with a lovely little gal named marie Calander. Met her in the frozen foods section.

I am actually not doing anything but going to bed! I am in love with myself this year. I'm going to call my momma and tell her how much I love her, watch some reruns and go to bed. I don't need a holiday to tell me when to show someone how much I love them!! Sure, it would be nice to have a beau, but right now, I'm too busy making love to me!! (How crass does that sound!!!LOL)

I haven't had a "real" Valentine in 3 years! So imagine my surprise when a guy that I had never thought twice about as more than "just a friend" dropped by my work this evening with a homemade card, a stuffed bear, and a big hug...I was planning to celebrate "Single Awareness Day" with you folks, too, but I was pleasantly shocked!

Its been years since I had a real Valentines Day

Yesterday I worked most of the day and I sent Roses, Teddy Bear, and Ballons to a friend. I talked to her over the phone and I just went to bed after that. I'm still waiting on some cards though

Valentines is definitely usually is a drag for me and I try not to think about the day.

Velentine's Day is just a bad day for me - let me tell you about yesterday. I wake up deathly ill - I think I have the flu. My eyes are so swollen that I don't even bother to put on my contacts or makeup. Well, before class I lock myself out of my car - while the car is running (don't even ask). Then, between my first and second class, some stranger comes up to me and hands me a rose and wishes me a happy Valentine's Day. OK, I know that I look like shit, I know that I look like the biggest loser in the world, but does he really think that having a stranger pity me is going to make me feel any better?!?!?!?! Well, I wanted to go off on him, but I didn't have enough energy. Apparently, he was giving all of the girls that no one would touch with a cattle prod flowers out of pity for them. That did not make me feel any better. Then I went to the mall shopping (if no one is going to buy me a present, then I'll buy me a present!) and had several clerks ask me if I was buying clothes to go out with my boyfriend.

On the way to the car from the mall, I got soaked by a rude SUV. One top of all of this, the CD I bought is broken, I lost a hub cap, and a fish died. Yesterday was not a good day.

But, I am glad for those of you who had a great V-Day. I figure that I'll have good V-days sometime in the future - Cupid owes me!!!

It sucks to have a bad day, but its even worse when its on a holiday! I hope you feel better soon!

Oh my Gosh - you people are soooo nice! Thank all of you! I am feeling better. I just went over to some some friend's apartment and we ate hamburger helper and watched TV and chilled. It was fun. I'm still hacking up peices of my lung, but other than that, I'm feeling pretty good. Cupid owes me more than one, but I can handle only one at a time!
