A Message from Theta Chi Chapter at Virginia Tech:
Dear Sisters,
On behalf of the Theta Chi Chapter, we would like to thank every alumna
and chapter who has contacted us to offer their support and
condolences. The outpourings of e-mails and calls filled with kind words from our
sisters around the country have touched our chapter greatly. In a time
of such sorrow, we truly feel surrounded by sisterhood.
We feel very fortunate to have all of our chapter members safe and
unharmed. We are especially proud of one of our new initiates, Amanda
Blackeney, who serves on ResVTcue, Virginia Tech's rescue squad. Amanda
spent several hours responding to yesterday's events and exemplifying the
University's motto "Ut Prosim," meaning "that I may serve."
As we continue to grieve, we ask you to keep all members of the
Panhellenic community in your thoughts and prayers. Our chapter will be
lending support to other chapters directly affected, as well as supporting
the Virginia Tech community at large.
We will keep you posted as the response on campus and from our chapter
continues. Thank you again for your love and support.
Loyally,
