NASHVILLE STAR--NEW SEASON
Ok, know we all adore American Idol and hate American Idol and it is now a definite American icon and column supporting popular culture....
that being said, I happened across NASHVILLE STAR last night...and if you like country music and even if not, try to watch and vote if you can and have the interest and the time.
They bypass the painful vote offs...go right to the tryouts and instant voting and the ones so far have been incredible. Beautiful girls of voice and personality and all could sing so well and even some accompanied themselves on a guitar.
Just such a relief to hear the beauty and not so much the agony of the criticisms. The judges are interested and seem fairly open and honest and not down right nasty and critical and totally into themselves. Perhaps a new trio on American Idol could now be appreciated after this season. Surely new judges can become as nasty and supercilious as our famed trio?
Anyway, this is more for a vote for a bit of musical fresh air and new talent ready for the picking and appreciating!!

I meant to post about this the other day. But yeah, like I said last season, this show definitely has a higher quality of talent to it. I love that most of the contestants can play guitar as well. It's a good show, and I always love the winners.

As lame as the Nashville country scene is, Nashville Star has a much higher emphasis on musical ability.

I enjoyed Last Season. I'm hoping to catch it the next time it comes on.

One of the winners, Natalie Tidwell, is a Tri Delta. Her voice is amazing.

No one named Natalie ever won. And so I googled her to see who she was and she won The Next American Superstar, not Nashville Star.

It's no surprise that Angela won. She was the best from the beginning.

I didn't really care for her at the beginning even though she was one of the better singers.

Gotta give props to my Muscle Shoals people! I've seen Angela and Zac perform at some of the local bars when I was in college......I knew she'd win---actually I called it the first episode.
