				For you collectors out there...

What do you get for the Lambda Chi Alpha collector who has everything?
How about a copy of Gentlefolk in the Making by John E. Mason, Copyright 1935.
http://cgi.ebay.com/John-E-Mason-193...QQcmdZViewItem
I'd buy it myself, but I'm saving for a new guitar.

In ZAX,
Mark

			Ottor,
Buy the book now and get the guitar later. Original editions are rare and sell for a lot. I paid 10X the starting price of this one for mine.

 ZAX,
 Jono

I imagine that Indy has one of these but if they do not I will endeavor to pick this one up as a gift for them.

Just our of curiosity, what is so special about this book, other then the fact that it was wrote by John Mason. Oh and dont get me wrong, that in itself is an excellent enough reason to go after it, but is there anything else special about it.

I don't know...I think it's based on Mason's doctoral thesis. I just happened to be reading through a section of the LXA history book that discusses it, and I decided to see if there were any available.
Jono, have you read the book? Is it any good? Or did you just buy it for it's "Jack Mason Value?"

This book amounts to the published version of his dissertation.

Supposedly the book is still used in some college courses and was reprinted in 1971. Print-on-demand versions are also available. All of them are pricey.

A good 1935 edition with dust jacket can easily run $200 or more.

Alibris lists one that includes a letter from Mason for $225. I called the seller many months ago asking to buy just the letter, but she wouldn't sell it.
