I hope that Joseph Barbera wouldn't mind that the first thing I heard in my mind's ear when I heard the news was Snagglepuss saying "Exit, Stage Left."
From Hanna-Barbera, I loved Snagglepuss, Yogi and Boo Boo, Huckleberry Hound, Pixie and Dixie, Quick Draw McGraw (and Baba Looey), The Banana Splits, and of course, The Jetsons.
As for the best cartoons ever, though, I'll leave that for a different thread.
"Heavens to Murgatroid!" RIP, Joseph Barbera.

Such a lovely way of putting it!
May you rest in peace, Joseph Barbera. As long as there are little girls, there will be Pebbles hairdos!

RIP Joe-you are the reason my horseback riding instructor couldn't spell my first name right.
Hazelle, for the love of god, type like a normal person, please. You're one step up from Earpese.

Wish you could confiscate the caps lock key?
Sniffle about Joe.
And MysticCat took the thoughts out of my head.

I have many many memories where Hanna-Barbera comes to mind. I grew up right outside of Kings Dominion (like five minutes away) which was originally owned by Hanna Barbara.
There were H-B characters everywhere including Yogi's Cave, Smurf Mountain, the Scooby Doo Coaster, Jetsons cars, etc. I could go on and on. I basically grew up at this place.
I still have my boo boo stuffed animal that my dad won for me once and a sweatshirt with scooby.
I liked all the obvious ones.. the Jetsons, Flintstones, Smurfs but I also liked the snorkels.

Sooo many awesome cartoons, but I will always love the Flinstones, Jetsons, and Smurfs. A friend was just telling me that the Flinstones was the 1st cartoon that had a sitcom format and aired on primetime. They're characters really took cartoons to the next level.

I am one of those who would watch the Flintstones on prime time with my father. Every Friday night at 8 PM. Never heard of them until my father and a friend were talking about the Flintstones while we were driving somewhere. I was immediately hooked.
Huckleberry Hound was one of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons. Along with Trixie and Pixie the mice.
I remember when Hanna Barbera opened their office in Studio City in the part of town that is now Universal Studios. Wanted to go and visit, but alas they were not open to the public. Was not a happy little kid when I heard that.

I should have mentioned in my earlier response, but Mel Blanc would not have been the voice of most of the characters shown in the poster. While he did do voices at H-B -- notably Barney Rubble and Mr. Spacely of Spacely Sprockets -- he was not the top voice person at H-B like he had been, and would later be again, at Warner Bros.
