Granted it's from 2005, but you might want to check out this thread.

According to the Fall results thread, quota this year was 25...but we only got results for two of the chapters there (both of whom made quota).

Perhaps doing a search might give you the answers you're looking for.

I was in a sorority at Pepperdine...what do you want to know?

There are seven sororities, all excellent groups (the founding members of NPC) - Alpha Phi, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi. Rush is in the fall, toward the end of September, and about 30% of the women on campus are greek. Recruitment is "no frills." It is much more casual than what you would find in the south or at USC, but due to the number of chapters, it still has a competitive feel to it. Since the school is filled with overachievers, it sometimes results in lots of pouting during rush from women who are used to getting everything they want but don't get into their first choice sorority. Members of the sororities are supportive of each other, and each of the chapters is diverse in terms of race, home town/state and majors.

There are no houses, so costs are limited to dues and new member fees. Panhellenic will give you a list of fees for each chapter during recruitment.

Recommendations are not mandatory at Pepperdine, but I never view recs as a bad thing. If you get some, you will make yourself stand out.

Feel free to post or PM me if you have any other questions Excited to see someone interested in Pepp recruitment!

I don't know why, but this sentence made me laugh. I'm also quite sure that this attitude is not exclusive to Pepperdine.

Glad you thought it was funny...yeah, it makes me laugh too. I'm sure it's not exclusive to Pepperdine! As it's been discussed in other threads, it might be a generational thing...kids growing up spoiled and always getting everything they want. For many, recruitment is the first rejection. As a recruitment counselor for two years, I saw behavior from some PNMs that made me feel sad and want to hug them, and other behavior that made me happy my sorority had not invited her/them back to the next round.

Calibaby, whereever you go through recruitment, keep your mind open to the strengths of each chapter you visit. There is never just ONE good sorority on any campus. Well, who knows, maybe someone will disagree with that, but usually the fighting over one chapter is needless and there are many top chapters to choose from. It was always sad to see PNMs drop out in the second round just because they didn't get invited back to their #1 or #2, especially since they knew little about those chapters in the first place.

OHHHH No it's definitely not. I think it has to do with as PeppyGphiB said the generational thing. Last year I found, even at my school where there's only three sororities and a VERY low percentage of the campus is greek, a lot of girls came in with the attitude that the sororities "owed it to them" or "they deserved it". We had girls asking if the "had" to attend the parties of the sororities they weren't interested in, being rude to chapters... etc... and were totally shocked if they only got 1 pref invite etc..
