			Very, very good.
Also one of the funniest books I have ever read, bar none.

I went to see this last weekend. Thought it was hilarious. I'm assuming that Katie Holmes made it in her pre-Tom days?

Back in the day when I did agency PR, one of our biggest clients was one of the Big Tobacco companies. I imagine this movie will hit a little close to home for me; I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I think Katie made the movie while she was with Tom. If memory serves me, I heard somewhere where he didnt want a scene in the movie some scene with her and another guy. Maybe this wasnt the movie, but I thought this was the one.
If its the wrong movie Im thinking of, dont mind me.

 | Actually, you're sort've right. She made the movie before they got together, but there was a sex scene that was shown at one festival, but not shown at one after she got together with Tom, so there was a big rumor about Tom having used his connections to get the scene taken out; supposidly it was just a problem with the film reel (although come on; who wants to believe that?:P so not as juicy)

 | Does the book have the same title? I would be interested in reading the book before seeing the movie.

 | Yes, but it's actually Thank You for Smoking , not Thanks for Smoking as in the title of this thread.

It's by Christopher Buckley, son of William F., and the former editor of Esquire and chief speech writer for Bush Sr. when he was Vice-President.
Thank You for Smoking at amazon.com

 | I didn't realize who the author was until I read this. Interesting. How much does it differ from the film?

 | It's been long enough since I've read the book, I can't be sure anymore. I know the son has a much bigger role in the movie than in the book, but there were many scenes in the movie that I pretty much remembered straight from the book.

 | I've never read anything by the son.
