Miss Kentucky, Kerri Mitchell-Alpha Delta Pi (EKU)
Which is ironic, 'cause Miss Kentucky last year was Maria Maldonado, also an ADPi (but from the UK chapter.)

Miss Alabama, Alexa Jones, is an AOTT (Tau Delta, Birmingham-Southern College). Maybe we'll have back-to-back Miss Alabamas as Miss America?

I heard it got picked up, but I don't remember the channel. I wanna say CMT, but I don't know if that is correct.

Now I don't usually make a point of watching this stuff, but James Denton is hosting the show this year so...

Thumbs up to whoever made that decision. Just say no to people like Tony Danza and whatever has beens end up doing these things.

I used to participate on the MAO message board called "Community Halll". When Tony Danza was picked as the host, I posted a message questioning that decision, and oh man, you should have seen the outraged posts that followed my innocent question of "Does Tony Danza really appeal to a younger crowd?" The mere idea that me, a twenty-something former competitor and volunteer was questioning the divine all-seeing eye of the MAO was too much for certain "older" volunteers to handle. Heh. I wonder what they think of this year's host. I'm sure there are some that are lamenting for the days of Donnie & Marie or Regis and Kathy-Lee.

RedRoseSAI: You were on Community Hall? I'm sorry to hear people jumped on you. We've given a mostly favorable response to having James Denton as host this year.
I post to CH not infrequently, and find it to be an interesting place...unlike some of the "unofficial" message boards out there which do nothing but bash contestants.

I consider watching Miss America a ritual every yr. If i go a yr without watching i am very upset. My friends and I growing up would sit and wear our home coming or what not tiaras... it was big gorwing up and still is. I am soooo glad they found a home. It definitely will be different Vegas vs AC but times change and so do ideas and traditions.
this yr decision to have James Denton host....... 3 words for them OH HELL YEAH! that man is soooo dang hot! my sundays are not complete without that show and at least a glimpse of his hottness! LOL
