graduating senior freaking out about life :(
ok, T minus 6 months before i graduate.
my worries? typical of a graduating senior. let me display them for you:
- getting an apartment (the "moving home" option doesnt exist)
- getting a car (will be my first ever)
- growing up (well thats pretty inevitable...)
on the upside, i already have the job secured. my biggest fears: - moving (to NJ, which i know not much about ie. where to move to)
- getting too old too fast (getting so wrapped in corpAmerica itll drive me into exponential aging)
- losing touch from everything i know social (i was just growing into being my age--how do i hold on to that and still be an "adult?")
- learning to drive (which im sure isnt as hard as it could be)
as much as im ready to be done with school, ive just gotten comfortable with being a young adult. i know there could be a lot worse stuff to deal with, but im scared.
i know this comes at 4am. but the sentiment is there.
any wise words (from "itll be ok, here's what i did" to "suck it up baby!") from those who been there, done that?

Heck, I don't even remember it. Couldn't have been that bad.

Learning to drive?
It must be very different where you're from
I don't know a single person who didn't have a car or access to one at 16.. of course, there's very little in the way of public transit here.
Congratulations though. You must have really stood out to have landed a job so quickly -- not all college grads are able to do that.

Hey, at least you have a job lined up! When I graduated, I didn't even have that because I had no idea what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I still don't. The best advice my parents gave me was not to worry, that nobody really knows what they want to do with the rest of their lives (even if you're 80), and it's totally OK to switch careers if something comes along that you like better.

it's really not that bad once you get there. you have a job lined up, and that's really the biggest thing right there. i was unemployed for 3 months after graduation, couldn't even find a stinkin' retail job to tide me over until i got a real job, and was literally on my last penny before the job offer came.
my only advice: try to find an apartment with free on site laundry and heat included in rent. my gah, i love my free on site laundry.

Even though life since graduation hasn't been a picnic for me (quarterlife crisis, anyone ?) I'm still having a blast and taking things as they come. Change can be scary, but since you say you're comfortable where you are, why not challenge yourself and grow a little more ?

thx! having the job is the sweetest part, and im really grateful. i hold onto that upside when im stressing out.
oh, theres never a rush to get a license in the city. sans the crazy transit strike, our public transit gets me everywhere i need to. so this having to have a car thing is a big move.

Dude it's different in cities like NYC and Chicago lol You just don't need them.
tld221 don't worry. For the first few months you'll spaz and wonder how you didn't get hit by a car every time you switch lanes but then you get comfortable with it.
