Lol that's depressing! I have been a Mayer fan for about...5 years? I was in love with him about 2 years before he released his first album, when no one knew who the hell he was! Aah, those were the days! It was so nice to see him in concert when he played small little venues with just a few hundred people! I was so looking forward to the House of Blues performance...much smaller than anything he has done tour-wise for the last few years! I will get those tix!!

I saw him in Little Rock a coupla years ago. It wasn't a bad concert...just make sure whoever opens for him is good. I spent the entire time that guy was singing either in the lobby or getting my 21+ friends to buy me booze.
But John was good. I'm not even that big of a fan. I just went cause I got free tickets!

EDIT: When I saw him, his opener wasn't anyone I had ever heard of.

I've seen him twice. He usually puts on a decent show. His "between song" quips and dialogue is usually what attracts me to the show.

And his openers are generally pretty popular too. Saw him with Maroon 5 twice and once with Counting Crows. So it's always a decent show.

I loved Room for Squares before all the songs were overplayed. I went to see him last summer with Maroon 5 (I was there for Maroon 5 and he happened to be opening) and he was the single most disappointing act I've ever seen. I don't know how high he was, but he wasn't singing well and he decided to improv... I like and appreciate improv, but after 30 minutes, I was ready to leave. I was glad Maroon 5 had opened because it wasn't a waste of $, but I think the fame and $ have gone to good ol' John's head. I wish he'd go back to being the cool obscure guy who plays in fields

Hmmm...I've never been to a bad John show. In fact, every show I've seen him at he is about 8 million times better than on his cd's. He really saves himself for his live perfomances...buuuut yes, he does like his weed now and then lol. And I will say that his improv is what I enjoy the most. I LOOOOVE when he just busts out into a guitar solo for 15 minutes, it's just incredible to watch him play. He has already been compared to all of the greats...that boy has so much talent oozing out of his fingertips it isn't even funny. I am so excited to see the John Mayer Trio - John, Palladrino (I believe??) from the Rolling Stones and someone from The Who - it will be bluesy and amazing. Aaah is it Sept 24 yet?

oh yeah

I've seen John command THOUSANDS of people in song and whip up such a frenzy, even from people thousands of yards away (it seems like it was that far back anyways). He can really make the guitar 'talk' if anyone's seen him do Come Back To Bed before it was released on CD. My boyfriend can't stand that he sounds so 'dead' on the CD but it's his lyrics that move me and the music is amazing. Songs like 1983 and Home Life and 3x5 and Comfortable give me chills. Also, my best friend met him, got to go on the tour bus, told him about me and my ex also being huge fans, ate his pizza, played Halo with him and got to ride in the limo to the airport. He had an amazing time and told John he'd be proud to bear him children anyday LOL (and he's a boy!!!!) He was SUPER nice and we are WAITING for John to come back down this way so we can get another good show!
