Last time he was in the hospital was the same time as the Pope. My mom said that it was typical Jerry, trying to steal the Pope's thunder.

People around here think the world's going to end when Jerry dies. People are seriously trying to sneak into the hospital to see him. Crazy!

pneumonia and now "undisclosed medical problems"...

does anyone else smell AIDS?

If he wasn't 71, then I'd be inclined to agree.

In the 80s, newspaper obituaries used a certain language that was "coded" in a sense. Whenever you saw "long illness" or pneumonia or a cancer that came out of NOWHERE, it was generally understood to be AIDS if the person was young, male, and single.
