The new Apple products

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...hi_te/macworld

What do you think? I don't like the small computer. It's too big to be a handheld and too small to be a laptop. Not too sure about the iPod either. I like the size of my current mini!

ETA: I just realized that the small "computer" is really a hard drive and CD player, and you have to get your own keyboard, monitor and mouse....so basically, it's only cheaper if you already have a Mac.

It's neither a handheld nor a laptop, it's a "small computer" as you said. And it's not cheaper if you already have a mac. Any mouse, keyboard, and monitor works with it. It is an entry level machine to get marketshare from those who don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a top of the line G5.

I like the iPod Shuffle. But I wonder why they made it so little. I like the size of the regular iPod and the screen is cool.

I guess that the idea of buying something for only 99 bucks is the appeall...the screen costs a lot i am sure...i personally don't get why someone would buy it since it only holds 240 songs at a time..but it is a cool idea

when I saw the iProduct thing you posted, the first thought in my mind was, "oooh, what's that? I want it..." which just proves that I'm apple obsessed.
Anyway, I personally think that tiny flash memory music players aren't worth it... 240 songs for $100, versus 20,000 songs (although, who HAS that many?!) for $300. Same with the iPod mini, it's just a marketing ploy because they're cute and colored. But I like the small computer, that's really cute.... but my iMac is cuter

not everyone has a demand for that many songs. people work out, run and do things of that nature...weighing in around an ounce is that funny little 'c' word...running even with a mini would be pretty much a hassle i'd think.

I got the 20G (I think that's what you meant....not 20k songs...at least not for $300) and I kind of wish I'd gotten the 40 cause I have room for about 2 songs left...I'm down to nothing, but maybe I'll wait a while and get the 80 in a couple of years.

I still like the all-in-one flatscreen is much nicer considering it's less space but it's also much more expensive, I think.

Anyway....for anyone with an iPOD and a wireless network someplace like school or work...try out myTunes...it's a beautiful, beautiful thing. Ever notice those people in your shared music folder....with myTunes you can grab the contents of their library...doesn't work for macs though...kind of ironic

Actually, it does work on macs... just not with myTunes, you have to use OurTunes or GetTunes instead And it definitely comes in handy with the school network!

Is it a separate program or does it integrate into itunes?

separate program, you can find either one by typing it into google. usually you have to re-download a newer version everytime they update iTunes cause they always block it... but the new versions always get around the updates

I found it! I didn't realize it was one word so I couldn't find it on google before. Is one better than the other?

For Macs:

For PCs:

I used to be totally obsessed with GetTunes... except it stopped working after the itunes 4.5 or 4.6 updates. OurTunes is okay, it works pretty well. I liked the look of GetTunes better, but beggars can't be choosers The good thing about OurTunes is that it lists everyone's music on the network in the OurTunes window, so you don't have to play the song on iTunes to download it (like you do with GetTunes), you just highlight the song(s) you want in the OurTunes window and hit download, and the songs will be put into any specified folder you want.
