Heeeeeeeeeellllllpp Meeeeee!
Guys (and girls!) I need some SERIOUS help.
I can't think of anything to get the boyfriend for Christmas!!!!!!! I'm seriously about to cry b/c I've spent all day today in two different malls thinking something would just POP out at me, but it hasn't
He's been graduated for a couple years now... and is working in the IT industry.... so he pretty much buys whatever he wants/needs when he feels like it Gifts aren't as easy as they were when we were both in college and he would mention how he wants to get a new watch or whatever.
Please help me

If he is anything like my boyfriend, he probably has most of these things, but I'll take a shot.
I-Pod
A briefcase
A wallet
A year long subscription to a newspaper or magazine that he reads
Tools
Tickets to see a game of a sports team or a concert of a band he follows
Satellite radio
Clothes
Cologne
DVDs
Luggage
A foot or back massager
A coffee maker or something else for his kitchen
Good luck!

This is what mr. honeychile is getting!
Well, that, and a few "little things" (DVDs, books, other toys he'll like).

thanks!!!!
my spending limit this year is approx. $200. he's really into electronics. He doesn't really follow sports that much (at least enough to have a favorite team or anything). Umm... he travels for work a lot since he's a programming consultant. He loves movies and has a ton of DVDs... generally he doesn't like cologne b/c he says he normally won't ever wear it.
Agh! I can't think of anything!
Maybe like a DVD organizer? Is that a dorky gift?
He mentioned he would like maybe some nice shirts or sweaters for work, so when I went through his closet he had like 50 different sizes!!! hehehe ok.. not 50.. but he had shirts of all sizes... so I asked him flat out what size he normally wears.. and he said usually medium, but sometimes he will get a large because the mediums sometimes aren't long enough on the arms depending on what brand they are... so umm.. yea.. back to square one for me!!!
I went to Express Men this afternoon b/c I know he shops there... but for some reason, I can't see him wearing any of that stuff! (It's probably b/c when we are together we're more casual... he gets all dressed for work)

OK this is gonna be a dumb question... but what exactly is TiVo? hehehe. I've heard of it but never really paid attention to what it is.... if that makes sense

I don't have TiVo, but it looks cool. I think it's in your price range. One TiVo box with 6 months of service costs $177.69.

hmmm that looks pretty nifty... he just got some kind of digital cable that I think does that? I could be wrong.
Hmmm definitly something I will try to keep in mind.
Do you think it's bad to give a gift that will eventually require a service fee (after say the 6 mo. period is over)?

TiVo is like a mini-fantasy island for men! I know at LEAST 15 guys who would sell their mother before their TiVo!!
Another idea is, if he has a lot of vhs tapes, or tapes a lot of shows, a combo dvd/vhs player/recorder would be a good idea, and can be under $100.
As for clothes, if he has multiple sizes, and they seem to be between a medium and large, get the large. If he seems insulted, tell him that you bought the large because of his huge shoulders!
Is he a sports geek? Not that I know anything about sports geeks but they usually have favorite teams, and jerseys or other team paraphenalia are usually cool. I found an autographed jersey on ebay for under $30 - the jersey of mr. honeychile's favorite player! If you go this avenue, though, BE SURE you can authenticate the signature!

Cool... I will check w/ one of his best buds (who will probably know more about the new cable thing he just got b/c he's a technology guy too) about what exactly mr. texas already has.
As far as dvds/vcrs go... he already has top-of-the-line of those. he's reeeeeeeally into electronics. in fact he was the one who bought me my dvd & vcr
he's not really into sports.. he watches sometimes with his boss when they go out after being on-site, but he's not that *into* it to have a favorite team or know any type of stats whatsoever about any of the players.
hmmmm.... i wish i could afford to get him that super huge widescreen projection screen he talks about owning someday
Just a few months ago I already had it in my head I would get him a surround-sound system for his place... then he bought one like a month after my super great idea it's not his fault though.. he didn't know... but still... he stole my idea

Here's an idea --
take him away for a weekend at a romantic bed and breakfast where you can have sex the entire time. Okay, when you're not having sex it's Sunday afternoon and you're in bed, eating pizza you had delivered, drinking beer, and you can have sex after the game. Now THAT'S a gift.

This is exactly how my bf is. He's really into computers and electronics and not into sports. If he wnats something, he'll buy it cause he's very picky about everything. So I got him a programming book that he mentioned that he wanted. But he knows that I got it for him. lol.
Maybe a girft certificate to Borders?
Does he like to cook? Mayeb some kitchen tools?

Your boyfriend sounds a lot like my husband. We actually got a "quality TiVo-like substitute" (DVR system offered through our cable company) for each other for the holidays. We've had it about a month, and I already don't know how I ever lived without it
If you're thinking about electronics, you should ask him what he wants. As a techno-geek myself I know that people who are into electronics often have something very particular in mind... for example, they'll have a specific make and model of MP3 player that they want, and will be disappointed if you give them a different MP3 player.
You said that he travels a lot. You could give him a good laptop bag, carry-on bag, or suitcase. Norm Thompson also offers a lot of clothing geared for travelers (things that don't wrinkle, etc).
Happy shopping!
