MTV's Fear
Does anyone else watch this show.
I don't know if it's an old show or if they are still making new episodes, but I caught it for the first time on the Canadian station YTV.
It's really kind of freaky. I know I could not do it, not for 5 grand anyway. You'd have to be offering a lot more than that to lock my self in a decrepit jail cell, or spend 20 hours in a locked basement alone, in the dark, of a "haunted house".
Like I said, I don't know how new this show is. So does anyone watch it, or did anyone use to watch it. What did/do you think of the show?

Is that the show where there is a team of like 5 people that all go in with cameras and they send out one (or more) person to do some freaky task while someone else in a control room is giving them instructions?
If so, I remember that! It is older. But they'd send kids into haunted houses and strange forests and whatnot. It's a reality-show Blair witch project or something.

I loved it too.. along with The Scariest Places in (the World?), with Jamie Lee Curtis. I miss those shows! Did they run out of haunted places to go???

Yeah, you're probably watching the season that aired about 3 years ago. If I'm not mistaken they only had one or two seasons of that show.
I loved it and if they hadn't abruptly cancelled it I would have loved to be on the show. I'm certain that most of the crap is made up though, and I don't really hold truth to anything the Warrens say. You know, that old couple MTV calls "paranormal experts"...they're a load of crap.
Can't remember which was my favorite one, but I liked the ones in the abandoned prison, the old hotel, and the former military school.

I was always pretty sure the sounds/effects the people experienced were faked by MTV. Special effects are so good these days, but the show was still great!

I just remember this one where a guy (or girl, can't remember) had to mock/hang himself. It involved put a rope around his waist and pushing a rock off a cliff. The kid didn't know if the rope was long enough so I think he failed the mission. But I was like... That's F-ed up!

That's not as bad as the ditzy blonde who had to hold on to wires while electrocuting herself. I remember MTV had that disclaimer on the screen "don't worry, there isn't enough voltage to cause her any harm". Um, yeah. I can still remember she was scared about her tongue ring.
But hey, she stuck it through and got the $$$ in the end.

I think this was Holly, who was also on the current Big Brother.
I loved Fear. I hope they bring it back soon. My favorite was the old prison where they had to go to death row and sit in the electric chair! eeeek!

I loved that show, if only because it creeped me out.
The military boat one was kinda strange because that girl's mouth started to bleed while she was sitting while a big blob moved by her on the monitor.
The other one I found creepy was the mental institution one where that one husky guy went into the attic, got scared and then was "chased" - doors closing, noises - he claims there was no way it was staged.
I think they did a reunion show and a lot of them said that they became insomniacs or wouldn't sleep in the dark for months after their show. One girl broke down, I think she's in therapy now.

In the 2 episodes I watch 2 participants did auto-writing and I really think that was staged.
But it's still pretty creepy. I wouldn't want to be locked in the dark, on my own, in some strange place for several hours.
However, I don't think I would ever be on that show if they brought it back...not for 5 grand.

i was hooked on this show when it came out. my favorite episode was when one person had to row across some stream by himself to a cemetary and lie in a closed coffin for a certain amount of time. then, another person took a second boat to the same cemetary and buried the coffin with some dirt while the first dude was still in there.
