Hypocracy in chapter

I was wondering if other Delta chapters had a lot of issues with members who are super-conscious about our "image" at school but then on the weekends and outside of Delta functions literally let it all hang out. Some girls in our chapter are very very worried about how we are percieved as a group on campus, yet when the weekend rolls around they're the first ones to get dressed up, go out and get drunk. For example, our greek week shirts said "No matter the letter, greeks do it together." Only our chapter voiced concearn about a possible sexual undertone being present--hardly anyone even thought about it. I find it really frusterating because it's so hypocritical and was wondering if other members have the same problem in their chapters.

This definitely sounds like an internal chapter issue. If you feel strongly about this, you should talk to your sisters. Every chapter is different, but the one thing that we should all have in common is the love of Tri Delta ideals. Part of loving what Tri Delta stands for is protecting her image - which generally doesn't involve posting negative things about the sorority or a specific chapter of the sorority on a public website.

Tri Delta stands for a "perpetual bond of friendship" and yes that means inter-chapter friendship as well. Im sure that every Tri Delta here on Greek Chat is eager to help you with positive, chapter building ideas. We love to talk about ways to improve our philanthropy, unity and sisterhood. Interchapter politics should be kept within your chapter, however, because only you have the power to make a difference within your chapter.

"Image" is important to every GLO - and I'm not talking about the superficial image (hair, makeup, clothing etc). I am talking about the image that includes the way we present and conduct ourselves. Part of our goal as a Tri Delta is to develop a more womanly character. Stand up for Tri Delta and work hard to protect her image any way that you can.

I'm not a DDD BUT you're not the only one facing this. A fraternity had a softball game & the shirts the sororities were supposed to wear said "Your letters here...Do it in all positions"
I was not amused by this at all b/c it made us realize that it's apparent that some of the fraternities have negative opinions of the sororoties thanks to the actions of some girls. It's not fun & I was very happy when the slogan was changed.
