I need help ironing this out!

All right, I was recently offered a job in my hometown for the summer (I'm a substitute teacher so I have to make other arrangements for employment right about now) to work in the office of a business owned by some family friends. However, the job doesn't pay much, so I would probably have to work a second job at a restaurant or something to make enough money for car payments, health insurance, and grad school tuition for this fall. I told them I would probably do it, but they haven't told me exactly how much they would be paying, only a general figure.

OK, so over the weekend, I was talking to my older sister, and she thinks I should work in the city where I'll be going to school this fall because I would most likely make more money there. She lives there, so she said I could stay with her so I wouldn't have to worry about rent. If I worked in the city, I might not have to work two jobs.

So that's my dilemma...I really don't want to upset my family's friends who own that business, but at the same time, I'm not sure I want to work two jobs, either. I don't know if I should go to the city or not, though, because my family complains that I'm never around as it is and I know they'll be needing help this summer taking care of the yard and pool and stuff. Everyone's making me feel so damn guilty. If I do decide to go to the city, how do I back out of this office job without ticking anyone off? I need to decide, like, today, because the lady called me this morning at seven o'clock wanting to know when I was going to start work.

You need to do what's best for you. Looks like working in the city is it. I think you'd be more of a let down to this family if you do indeed end up working 2 jobs and then you'll be constantly dog tired and unproductive. I know it's hard, but if they're nice, they will understand.
