When my husband and I decided to elope, my husband set the whole thing up and I just needed to show up--didn't need a dress, didn't need much make-up, didn't really have to have my hair done, but I did... But all the paperwork and stuff, he set up, I just had to get it notarized and signed...
When we had our religious ceremony, we had planned to really get married in Sedona, Arizona and he put the money down to save the date and location. We were using a planner out of Sedona, Arizona and they had these packages. But the package was of poor quality and needed sprucing... There were no boutonnieres for the best man or the fathers, there were no nosegays for the mothers... I barely got by with a maid of honor bouquet (sp.?)...
Then it didn't matter if my husband and I didn't invite anyone but our families, at least my parent's friends were ready to crash the party anyway, so we had to have some sort of "dinner". And that was extra for the planner to do... My poor husband, totally clueless about these things wouldn't have done it. We'd have beer nuts and rum if it were left up to him...
But if a groom has an idea of what he wants to do and it meshes with the bride's idea, then hey... Best of luck!!! The problem comes if the ideas don't mesh... I really wanted a "Black Elvis, with the Motown Singers" at Las Vegas' "Chapel of Love"--but my husband wasn't having it...

At least it would've been a wedding that EVERY ATTENDEE would remember...
