What would you do?!?!

So today me and a bunch of sister were down at the park by the lake. We were fooling around and stuff and were kinda all goign in our own directions. Well at some point we decided to lead each other around blindfolded. (Why I don't' know, we were just having fun.) Well there park is on a lake and there are some docks and stuff. One group decided for some stupid reason to go walk close to the water. One sister was leading and said "Stop here" when they got really close to the lake. Well the girl she was leading misheard her and thought that she said "step here" this is a bug difference when you are by the almost frozen lake. Well the one sister (my very close friend) took another step and stepped over the ledge and fell into the lake. Luckily she was close enough to the wall to grab onto it and make herself over to were she could stand and walk out of the lake. Remember that we are in Wisconsin and this lake has about 1/2 inch of ice on it which she broke when she fell into it. So the rest of us who didn't know that this was happening ran over when we heard the other girl screaming and got the other wet girl home and in the shower right away. She is okay by the way. Just a nice big bruise where her leg hit the ice and broke it.

But back to my question, If you sister fell into a frozen lake, would you jump in to save her? I guess this question would go with brothers too. I'm just still really shook up about my sister.

I know that I would jump into the lake to save this girl in a heart beat. I went and looked at where she fell in and we could see the ice but still see the water underneath, I thought right there that if she would have somehow slipped under the ice I would have been in that lake in a heart beat breaking the ice to get her out. There would have been no questions about it.

Then I think of some of the other people in the sorority and I don't know if I would have been as willing to risk my life for them. Would you???

I wouldn't honestly know how I would act until I ever reached that point.

I wish I knew....I think it's just something I would know at the time....like I would try to help her, but I doubt very much that I would really really risk dying myself.....I know that sounds bad, but I've got to look out for myself too....

Well, I can say for sure that I would NOT jump into a lake to save a sister...I can't swim!!! I would be much more help out of the water, ie finding a long branch to extend to her, or screaming for help, or something...but if I jumped into the lake I would probably drown!

I would jump in to save any sister whether I liked them or not. They are still your sister as well as human beings people...How would you feel if the tables were turned and YOU were that sister that fell in the lake? Wouldnt you want someone, anyone to help you out? Even if it was a sister that you may not like very well? Ofcourse you would!.....So yes I'd jump in to try to save someone, even if it was someone I didnt think too highly of. Ofcourse I'd jump in trying to save a dog or cat that fell in too (and call for help and try to do what I could to save a wild animal that had fallen in) but that's just me.

MareImbrium is right. We really don't know.

That said, I think most guys would try and take some action. I would save the person whether I needed to jump in or whatever.
