Stepping love songs

Happy holidays to my Sorors and memberfriends!

I am getting married in about 6 months. My fiance and I plan to step at our wedding. I have been trying to think of appropriate songs that we could step to but have been somewhat unsuccessful..

If you have any suggestions, please post them.

Thank you in advance

Question

Do you mean step as in dancing?

Maybe she means strutting or strolling.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and marriage.

It really depends on what kind of stepping you are trying to do...
Will your dress allow you to get kinda hype, or do you have to remain pretty and prissy?

I don't know what artists you like, but I'd suggest something that has a nice beat, but a somg or artist that means something to you, old or new.

I think that's what she means, like Chicago-style step dancing. I have some old songs in mind, but I can't think of the names... I'll be back.

Is Chicago stepping and DC hand-dancing the same thing?

Thanks for all the good questions...

Its more like stepping like the R Kelly song - step in the name of love. I.E.- The video. I like that song but I am looking for something that will make my heart drop when I hear it .

Actually my fiance is an Ice Cold Bro of APhiA and we plan to slow dance, move into a step, and then do a skee-phi dance together.
My dress is A-line so will be able to move a little..

We have been trying to think of some thing sweet with a cool beat but have been somewhat unsuccessful...

Any and ALL suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I will let you guys know what we decide.....

Thanks Sorors and memberfriends.....

hmmm...my LS had a live jazz band at her reception. as they began to play jill scott- "long walk", her husband an AlphaMan, and his LBs began a nice, smooth lil' stroll. so we began our train on the other end of the dance floor, met them in the middle, and continued around the room. It looked really nice!

folks are swinging-out (stepping/hand-dancing etc.) to "You don't know my name" around here these days...if you are feeling that song...
maybe I'll think of more later...

Congratulations on your nuptuals!

As a Chicago native, I have a suggestion for you. If you still have trouble finding a song to step to, you can ALWAYS (and it NEVER fails) dig in the crates a lil' and use Jeffree Perry's "Love's Gonna Last". That is THE stepper's anthem, and works pretty well at weddings. That is one song that you can't go wrong with...

Good Luck

I absolutely LOVE that song but one of my fiance's frat used that song at his wedding. More over, it was their first dance song....

I kinda want to use it but my fiance really does not want to "copy". Good choice... though..

I would actually prefer an old school song!

Thanks for the idea Soror Kodaka,

I was actually listening to Jill Scott the other day wondering if one her songs would work. I am willing to try anything. I am almost at the five month mark.
