Riddle Me This....
This is the thread where all Riddles are welcome. I am going to start with some really old riddles to get the ball rolling and you can all guess and throw out another riddle.
Sorry, there are no prizes, but do know that if you answer a riddle right, you are smarter that the average Joe/Jill.
Riddle #1:
There are 2 American coins that equal 30 cents. One of them is not a nickel. How is that possible?
Riddle #2:
You know how birds fly in the "V" form. How come one side is long than the other?
Riddle #3:
Dr. Fisher and his son Arthur are in a car accident. Dr. Fisher is killed instantly. Arthur is taken to the hospital. The old surgeon says. Stop, I cant operate because this is my son Arthur. How is this possible?
and last, but not least Riddle #4:
A plane crashes so that half of the plane is in the US and the other half is in Canada. Where would you bury the survivors?
Thats all for now....Have fun!

I know 3 out of 4...
#1 One of the coins is a quarter which is not a nickel.
#2 There are more birds on that side? Wasn't sure about this one.
#3 The surgeon is Authur's Mom
#4 You don't bury survivors!

Okay I don't know about #2 but:
#1. One of them is not a nickel, so it's a quarter. It says noting about both coins not being nickels.
#3. The surgeon is his mother.
#4. You don't bury survivors. DUH!!
ETA: I must have been writing at the same time as RedVelvet. #2 is a stumper.

Very Good
All of you got #2 right.
Here are more and feel free to add your own.
1) A woman has 7 children, half of them are boys.
How can this be possible?
2) A farmer and his hired help were carrying grain to the barn. The farmer carried one sack of grain and the hired help carried two sacks. Who carried the heavier load and why?
3) George, Helen, and Steve are drinking coffee.
Bert, Karen, and Dave are drinking soda.
Using logic, is Elizabeth drinking coffee or soda?
4) There is a common English word that is nine letters long. Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. What is the original word, and what are the words that it becomes after removing one letter at a time?
Thats all for now...see if you can answer these.

1. All of them are boys, so half are boys and so is the other half.
2. The farmer's load was heavier because he carried a sack of grain, the help only carried two sacks with nothing in them.
3. Elizabeth is drinking coffee. All of the coffee drinkers have two "E's" in there name, while the soda drinkers only have one.
4. Startling, starting, staring, string, sting, sing, sin, in, I
I guess you can tell what my teachers used to do with us when they ran out of work to assign, but I loved it. I have a couple of old ones you've probably heard before.
1. You are in a race and you overtake the 2nd person, what place are you in?
2. What is greater than God, more evil than the Devil, the poor have it, the rich need it, and if you eat it you'll die.
