Question How Much Is Too Much?

I'm talking about excessive force used by police officers. Many of you have probably seen the video of the Philadelphia police officers kicking the man they were trying to arrest. Yes, the man did do wrong by leading police on a high speed chase and taking a police car among other things, but was the behavior displayed by the officers truly necessary?

I know that the job of the police is difficult and dangerous. One of my uncles was killed in the line of duty years ago. So, I do know the what it is like on the other side and seeing firsthand how it has affected members of my family.

However, it is my opinion that police officers should set a better example. The man was already shot three or four times and a dozen or so officers could have found a better way to handle the situation than to resort to kicking. They resembled a bunch of kids during a school yard fight.

I throughly agree with you. I feel that police officers must be held to higher standards especially if citizen tax dollars are paying their salaries.
I think that this is truly a case of excessive force in which the police let their "blue" rage overcome them.
However in light of the recent frivolous lawsuits that have been filed against some cities, does anyone feel that Mr. Jones wanted this type of outcome to occur in hopes of possibly receiving a monetary award from the city.

I did hear someone on television talking about whether or not his civil rights were violated. I don't know if he planned for this to happen, but I'm sure he will use it for all its worth. Although I hope his wrongdoing isn't overshadowed.

I agree with everything that has beem said here. I is horrible to know that your tax dollars on paying the saleries of abusive police officers; when their job is "to preotect and serve". I'm sure we all know that there may be a few crooked officers out there but there are hundreds of police officxers all over the world that are behaving as vicious animals. Therefore it must be something wrong at the root. Are police being trained to kill or to womb? Why is it that victims are being brutally murdered those that are aroun to preotect an dto serve and to womb the dangerous. I believe that the academy trainers need to be monitored and fired if need be as well of all officers guilty of not following the rule of wombing the dangerous. This is something that we as African Americans need to be conscious of because it is are brothers and sisters that that is dying from this mess.

Exceptional,
I agree with the statements you made regarding the post issue, but please try to edit your remarks (spelling, word usage, etc.) so that you do not subtract from the significance of whatever it is you want to say.

Exclamation

I feel that the "victim" was wrong. The Police were wrong, too. What ever happened to just shooting someone in the foot to stop them...or shooting the tire(s) out if there is a highspeed chase? Then apprehend the individual and take him/her to lock-up. Isn't that the way it used to be?
The way I see it is that those cops were outraged because this guy shoots at ONE OF THEIR OWN and then takes ONE of their own CARS. What gall! What NERVE! HOW DARE YOU!!! (I am sure this is what they were thinking) So...LET'S GO GET HIM!!! All those officers were not called for for that ONE man! All that kicking and punching...
Still, this man should be prosecuted for his violations as well, whatever they are.

2 Wrongs don't make it Right!
