YOUR Favorite Movie of 2002

What is your pick?

This year we saw old time favorite TV shows come to the big screen as well as an increase in BLACK MOVIES with 2003 sure to bring even more.

I am going to wait to think of mine but there are quite a few contenders.

I know that this may sound cheesy especially with me being a grown woman but I enjoyed the Powerpuffs Girls Movie. I know that alot of people won't admit to even watching this but it's one of my favorite cartoons (behine the Proud Family ). My 4yr old begged to see it and I took her! I enjoyed the fact that girls kicked butt! Buttercup is my ace

others that topped off 2002:
In the Time of Butterflies (Selma Hayek, an indie film on cinemax)
Barbershop (delighted at a positive black man's life)
Spiderman (of course...)

There are some others but I can't think of right now!

The Ring

Any movie that deprives me of two nights of sleep deserves a nomination.

I didn't get a chance to get out to the movies much since I'm used to paying no more than $4.00 and they wanna act crazy and jack up the price to $6.25 (college student=budget=Broke as hell=no movies=wait til HBO picks it up) But my favorite that I did see was Martin Lawrence's Run Tell Dat. Hmm, I was under the influence when I saw that so it was super duper extra funny then. 2nd place, Barbershop.

In anticipation of this Wednesday I an going to step out on a limb and say......

LORD OF THE RINGS: TWO TOWERS

No it's not out yet, but it looks sooooo good! The first one was visually stunning, and the books are such rich source material that I dont see how this one can miss.

I really didn't have a lot of movie time this year, but my other picks are:

Y Tu Mama Tambien (freaky hispanic folk, lol)
Harry Potter 2: I REALLY liked this movie, and I didn't expect to because the first one (which I took my baby cousins to see) sucked. My homie dragged me to see this one and the movie was GREAT.

Consequence of having a DVD player I guess. I have been watching a lot of old stuff- Lion In Winter, Black Adder, Matrix, All About My Mother, Abre Los Ojos (MUCH BETTER THAN VANILLA SKY! WHY DID THEY BOTHER?), etc.
