Reclamation/Reactivation/Retention Ideas

Sorors,

Please share your reclamation, reactivation and retention ideas that have worked in bringing and keeping our pearls home.

I'd like to see what other sorors are doing so I can possibly implement them in my chapter.

Thanks :-)

This year, (Saturday) we are doing a "Round-up". Western attire and all.... wanted posters (that was the invitation), shoot-em ups..lol, saloon etc. and we are ending it with "western" food...barbeque, beans, corn...

Last year, we did the Hawaiian luau (sp?)

Good Morning Sorors!

In November, we are doing a weekend of activites to invite Sorors to come out and be a part of our chapter. We are having a Sisterly Relations activity on Friday night, on Saturday we will have our regular meeting and then our Buckle Up activity, and on Sunday, we'll attend Church and then have a luncheon. We are hoping to reclaim 20 pearls!

Good ideas sorors!

Keep them coming :-)

Have any sorors conducted surveys of inactive sorors in their area?

How did you do it? i.e. mass mailing, e-mail, phone, etc. Did sorors respond to the surveys? What were the responses? Did you use their responses to make changes to your chapter programs, etc? If you made changes to your chapter, then did these sorors reactivate? Was the survey worth the effort?

A lot of questions, huh? :-)

As you can see, I'm very serious about the status of our beloved membership. If we figure out why sorors are inactive or don't want to remain active, then we can possibly address those issues corporately.

For example, if we find that a lot of sorors are inactive because of financial reasons, then we can do a "general membership" drive and get them financial. Then the graduate chapters in that area can still keep those sorors in the loop, by inviting them to chapter meetings, as a guest(in hopes of them joining when their finances are in order), and to community service activities as volunteers.

Thumbs up 3Rs

This weekend, we're having a Sisterly Yours luncheon at a soul food restaurant in San Diego -- yes, there actually is one there. There was a special emphasis upon inviting inactive sorors.

We're also getting a trickle of inactive sorors coming to our chapter meetings. In fact, last week, we had a soror who was inactive for about 17 years come to meeting, and I think she's going to become active again.

The theme you've picked is such a good idea! We're planning a Round-up in January using a theme aroung "New Year, New Delta Resolution"...but I really like your idea/theme. It's sounds very fun.

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone tried any other ways of getting sorors to reactivate.

Your chapter should think about purchasing the sisterly relations (activity) book. Check with corporate office. The western round-up I mentioned above is featured in that book.

Maybe I posted this in another thread, but when I reactivated earlier this year, I proposed a newsletter for non-financial Sorors. I have received positive feedback from several Sorors (financial and non-financial) about the newsletter. Now I can't promise you that they're going to come back, because some won't come back no matter how many newsletters they get, barbecues or luncheons you give or anything else. Our ILR had a list of non-financials - not sure where her database came from - and this is where I got the addresses for the newsletters.

Hello Sister Greeks!

Over the past year we have gotten several Sorors to reactivate by inviting them to events. We've had a couple of theme parties, which are family friendly [ie bring your kids and significant others]. Also, we do fundraisers which ladies can participate in to cover a portion of their dues. The other benefit of the fundraisers we've done [which require some sweat equity] is that it gives some of our Sorors who have been on hiatus a chance to meet Sorors who have been inducted during their abscence.

Good Luck!
