UF RUSH

I know that everyone wants each girl to have there own post and some are saying that it would be to many posts. So I have made this thread for people who are rushing at UF, so that way all the people who are rushing at UF can share there experiences and updates here!!! GOOD LUCK because I know that I am nervous!!!

Hey

I know UF rush doesn't start for another 3 days (OMG 3 more days

) but I was just so excited today that I went and got my nails done. I have a hair appointment tomorrow, and I've got the clothes for each day squared away.

Oh! I just thought of a questions that maybe some of you UF greeks can answer for me, its about transportation. How do we get to the houses each day? I live kinda far from Panhellenic Drive and parking there would be kind of impossible.

Anyway, I'm soooo excited!! Talk to you guys later

I don't attend UF, but I'm from Florida, and I've visited there enough times, visiting family and friends. You know what? It might not sound that glamourous...but you gotta WALK. Unless you can get parking somewhere NEAR Panhellenic?

Parking at UF for rush is usually done at P.K. Yonge parking lot, which is not far but there is still a lot of walking to be done.

What are you guys wearing for round 1, if you don't mind me asking......

Yes unfortunately we have to WALK!!! I think I am going to wear khaki shorts, a cute shirt and sandals.

Or maybe I will capri pants, but I am not sure because of how hot it is outside. I don't know what I am going to where. I keep changing my mind. All I do all day is think about rush!!!

UF brat...I know exactly what you mean about not being able to think of anything else but rush!!

About the "what are you going to wear?" question...I'll probably be wearing a different skirt to each day (except the philanthropy parties which I think are round 2) because thats just who I am. People that know me know that I wear skirts ALL the time. It's kinda funny when it gets cold and I have to wear pants my friends are all "oh my god, Christine is actually wearing pants!!" It's really funny.

Anyway 2 more days til rush!! SO EXCITED!!!

Hey there Gators!

I just wanted to wish you all luck during Rush next week. If you have any questions about UF rush specifically, post here and I'll be happy to answer them.

I went through rush as a freshman (way back in the day Fall 1996), dropped out right before Prefs, joined my sorority later that year through COB, participated in rush with my house for the next 3 years, was on my house's Executive Council, helped plan major parts of our Rush activities, and was also very involved with the Panhellenic Council.

...So basically if you have any questions, I have a decent shot at answering them! Also, if you hear any of the crazy rumors that always go around during rush, feel free to ask me and I'll do my best to tell you whether they're accurate or not.

I'm sure you all will do fine. All the UF Rushees I've seen posting here seem to exhibit the wonderful enthusiasm that we love to see in rushees. And the extra information you have from this site will be helpful too - I wish I'd had a resource like this when I went through! Would have made everything less nerve-wracking.

Anyway, best of luck to you all again and GO GATORS!

P.P.S. Apologies for not using the PC terms "Recruitment" and "Potential New Member" - the old words "Rush" and "Rushee" are shorter and I'm too old school to retrain myself at this point. No disrespect meant.

AHHH! I am up because we have to be at rush at 8:00!!! Which really means that we have to be on campus by 7:30 to find a parking spot!! Well it all starts today! Round 1 parties 1-10, tomorrow will be Round 1 parties 11-19.

Alright I just got done with the first half of round one. Today I went to Tr-delt, KD, Sigma Kappa, D Phi E, Pi Phi and KKG. I have an idea of the ones that I really have liked so far but have 8 more parties to attend tomorrow!! I'll update later...wish me luck!!!
