Smile Another rush question!

I am planning on going through recruitment this year as a transfer student. I will only have 22 hours (so I will still be a freshmen) and have a cumulative GPA of 3.2. The school I will be going to is not terribly competitive and it has 6 national sororities. Do you think that being a transfer student will hurt me at all, even though I only have 22 hours? Thanks!

I wouldn't expect being a transfer student would hurt you at all. In fact, I think it could help you because you have solid college grades. Also, you're still classified as a Freshman, so you have 3-4 years as an Undergraduate to contribute to your future chapter. If you can, consider submitting Recs (recommendation forms) to the chapters on your campus before formal recruitment. There are other threads on Recs here or you can PM me (or just about anyone who reads/participates in the Rush board!!) for more information. Be yourself, be interested, keep an open mind, and most of all have fun during recruitment!!

Best of luck with Recruitment, Holly. Please keep us posted, I think we all love reading the Potential New Members' formal recruitment stories They're one of my favorite parts of GreekChat!

Fraternally,
Christin

Sounds to me like you're a little ahead of the ballgame Holly! You've got good grades and being a transfer with freshmen status is just fine! I say go for it What campus?
