issue with DZh8r

just to let you ladies know...someone has posted false ritual message about dz, she apparently is very pissed at the sorority...it is quite lengthy and most of it incorrect, but i was just wondering is there a way to close that thread or delete it entirely? it kinda makes me upset that people would try to do this.

Lambda Xi-
I understand your feelings, and totally appreciate your energy on this! Whoever dzh8er is, is incredibly bitter, but his/her anger is misdirected. We don't necessarily know that it is a female--it could just as easily be a guy who has been hurt. (Although the M.O. is distinctly female). We don't need to add fuel to his/her fire, though.

Of course, we know the truth of our ritual...to say "most" or "all" of h8er's content is incorrect, is not necessary. To respond to this in any serious way, or directly counter anything like an alleged handshake or "entry question" (whatever that is) is what this person wants--she/he probably even expects one of us to slip and say "nu-unh, we don't do that, but ____". While it seems harmless, we need to remember that discussion of our ritual with any non-initiated member is not acceptable. If it can't be deleted or closed, I suggest we ignore it completely and let it get off the first page (although the electric slide thing was priceless, Killarney Rose!).

Lambda Xi-keep that flame burning--cuz I can tell you are on fire about DZ!
Hugs,
Andi, Xi Nu, '89

Even if that thread isn't deleted, I'm not worried about it because I know--and so do you all--that it is a load of ol'....well, you know. This is terrible, I know, but I actually thought it was pretty funny.

Hey Y'all,

I'm almost sorry that I missed it! I wasn't online when dzh8r posted her little ritual fabrication. Wish I had been. At any rate, she has been banned. John took care of her very quickly. (Good riddance to bad rubbish, right?)

Summer is usually when these loonies come out of the woodwork. I think they post all this idiotic stuff in a sorry attempt to ruin Rush. The thing is that it backfires in their faces. Usually the GLO's that are targeted by Greek haters are the ones who have very successful rushes. People hear all the rumors started by the haters, and then go through rush to see for themselves if the rumors have any merit. The rushees quickly learn that Greek Life is a good thing and wind up pledging. So, if you ask me, these people who are starting crazy rumors are actually in a roundabout way helping the very organizations that they profess to hate. Not very bright, are they?
