Thumbs up huge party

we were thinking about a huge blowout, once a year, and costs, liability, and risk management. does anyone else throw a once a year 1000+ part?

You mean a thousand people? OR a thousand dollars? Because a Thousand Dollars isn't a lot at all to spend on a party . . . The dwarf one of the groups up here got attend cost more money . . .

Red face

Just got off of the phone with my Skoal Rep who is a Kappa Sigma Alum and also the DGM for the state of Kansas! Thye had a problem with minors drinking at a party! Da what else is new! Can die for the country but cant drink its beer at a function!
Anyway, the response is via the National, kick them out! I asked him if that ment they would have to recruit nothing but 21 year olds>

If they have a party by a 3rd vendor, they have to pay $500.00 for insurance policiy per party! Dam how many can afford that?

It is getting totally insane!

I know I should have posted this on Risk but figure it would get to more here!

Hang Greek Brosthers. and Sisters the worst is more than likely yet to come!

You could have a party at the Caves but I'd be afraid someone would get hurt going up and down the hill...

I don't but I know someone who is in the process of doing something similar. They have quite some info on it already. Maybe they can help? If you'd like email me at vg_ronnie@hotmail.com and i could get you in touch with that person.

Ronnie

P.S. GOOD LUCK!!

huge party

ilovemyglo: i'm the guy on the couch.
james: i meant a thousand+ people.
everyone: thanks. i'll be in touch.

The cost won't be a problem. That would probably just be security, insurance, and cost of location. We are financially set.
As far as risk management goes, it's a big risk and hard to manage. If you've had the party, did you invited non-greeks?
Have sign in sheets? Card for age? provide a system of transportation?
