Smile Panhellenic Recruitment

I'm the Vice President of Recruitment and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about what I can do for the Orientation Night and Bid Day events. I'm trying to change how these two days are run. The theme for Formal Fall Recruitment is Storytales and the slogan is "Add a chapter to your life!" I looking for ideas on skits and activities that we can do on both of these days. If anyone has any ideas I could really use the help.

P.S. Just so you know, greek Life on our campus isn't that strong. We only have 4 NPC sororities.

I don't know if this is something that you are looking for, but my chapter does a cinderella type skit for our second round of formal recruitment. Its like this girl and her three friends are at college and they all are different people and they all wish upon a star for a place that they will fit in. and then a fairy godmother comes and visits them and tells them how wonderful xyz organization is and in the end they all join the same organization because its so diverse they can all find a place in it.

Thanks maggieaxid, for the idea of doing something like cinderella as a skit. I really appreciate it. If anyone else has any other ideas, I could really use the help. Thanks.

How about an Alice in Wonderland type of skit...or better yet, Wizard of Oz. Both stories are about exploration and finding things within yourself.

Are you familiar with "Into the Woods"? Perhaps something like that could be adapted to your theme.

Great theme BTW! Love that "Add a chapter..."!

Maybe you can incorporate fairy tales from Mother Goose or the Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Andersen.

As PngnTrax suggested The Wizard of Oz is a good idea. If you wanted continuity with that on bid day you could use the slogan "There's no place like home" That was on the bid day shirts for my chapter a couple of years ago. We had our letters and Bid Day 2000(obviously would be 2002 now) on the front corner and on the back we had a black and white pic of a little girl sleeping with a stuffed lion (our mascot) with the slogan I gave above. They turned out really cute. Good luck with everything

Thanks a lot to all of you who put up a post. I really appreciate it! I have decided on a couple of different themes and different ideas for the week. I will let you know when they finally get approved. Thanks once again for all of your help.
