Homeschooling and recruitment

Does anyone have any experience with homeschoolers going through recruitment? I have a couple of recs I'm writing and I'm wondering how sororities these days view homeschoolers. Any advice I can give these girls other than the usual?

I don't treat them any differently except that here in Alabama they cannot participate in public school activities - athletic, etc and I feel the need to explain that. Some states, like Florida, allow them to (Tim Tebow for example was home schooled in high school). Otherwise, they are under the aegis of an accredited school so I don't usually have concerns about their grades. I just make a note that they were home schooled under the umbrella of Whatever Academy.

When I was an advisor, we had a girl who was home schooled by a very well read, articulate, liberal, politically minded mom. She was a legacy to another chapter on our campus and they dropped her after the first night, which was great because our girls really liked her. How she stood out: great conversationalist, tons of community service, lots of church related activities, asked good questions, and just presented herself confidently at all times. Just make sure to advise your PNM to have a strong resume of community activities and service. Stress to her the importance of strong communication skills. Also have her think of good answers to all of the home school questions
