Question Air Conditioning During Recruitment

I'm a House Director for a large organization who is getting ready to start Recruitment Week. Due to some recruitment rules, they have to close off a couple of rooms in the house that provide airflow into the foyer and dining room, making for very uncomfortable conditions when all of the members and new members are inside.

We can only turn the air conditioners down so low before they malfunction. Any creative solutions out there?

We had a similar problem a few years ago and rented CO2 blasters, also called cyro blasts. They blast a cloud of icy cold CO2 intro the room which clears fast but leaves the room a lot cooler. They use them in clubs too. We didn't use it during, but between parties to take the temperature down very fast. I'd check if they were allowed though.

If you are somewhere very humid a dehumidifier can help a lot. A small unit about the size of a mini fridge will work for 2000 sq ft and cost about $150

Somewhere dry - we used to build a swamp cooler. Basically you get a tub of ice and a floor fan and position the fan so it blows over the ice.
