More bad idea yet licensed GLO apparel
This was posted on "that site" a few weeks ago:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321123735228...84.m1423.l2649
At the time they had them for two other fraternities. Not to be overly dramatic but I nearly gasped when I saw it. Personally, if I saw an image of a Kappa Delta badge stuck on a t-shirt I'd be livid. The seller no longer has anything listed on the site and no similar products on their website so perhaps someone made them aware of their faux pas.
So, what say you, Greekchatters? Where does this fall on the inappropriate scale?
And why isn't there more guidance given to licensed vendors?

For me it falls very low on the inappropriateness scale. We had a Convention t-shirt from a few years ago that had a badge on it, I believe. IIRC, it was on the back.. don't know if that makes it any less "offensive" or not.

I think this is another one of those areas where GLOs can vary widely. For some, it is the heighth of inappropriate to have the badge on clothing, while for others it's not so big a deal. I have a tee-shirt that I bought from our national HQ store that has the badge enclosed in a circle bearing the name of the fraternity over the heart. Unlike some fraternities and sororities I'm aware of, we don't have a policy limiting use of images of the badge to specific contexts, other than that only a brother may wear it.

Interesting to see the listing, but the seller has nothing for sale on his Ebay store. I see the note that they are away & not selling now.... It will drive me NUTS if I see a T shirt with a Theta badge later

I can see that someone thought, "wow, what a great way to display our wonderful badge!" but the thinking process didn't go quite far enough. T-shirts get ripped, fade, and otherwise ruined. Some get sent to Goodwill or another place which accepts old clothing.
I know that several, if not most, GreekChatters are not in favor of seeing their letters on someone not directly involved with your fraternity or sorority. My own take is a little different: having read what our founders thought of charity, I'm sure that they would have preferred that someone without clothing would be given an Alpha Delta Pi shirt to wear. But this is MY thinking, and YMMD.
That said, I think that one should never let one's t-shirt displaying fraternal crest or pin/badge fall into another's hands, and due to the disposable nature of t-shirts, a pin shouldn't appear on one.

I am kind of on the line. I mean, I think the badge is extremely special and should be cherished...and I kind of don't like the idea of having it on a shirt because I think it might take away from the splendor of the sororities and fraternities badges...so I guess if there is no policy against it, it may just come down to personal preference. I for one, wouldn't wear a shirt with the badge on it...but that's just me...

This is not my most fave item on the planet, but honestly, I am more annoyed by CREST image items than badge ones.

This seems to me to be the GLO equivalent of those tuxedo tshirts.

Haha. yes! This is what I was thinking. It's a little weird to me to "wear the badge" in screen print form.

Really? Like you're thumbs down on crest sweatshirts?
Re the OP, I think this t-shirt is kind of neat, actually.

AOII doesn't allow the badge to be printed on any items other than official ritual gear so this would never happen. I'd love to have something with the superimposed letters, but alas, it won't happen. We have to be happy with a rose or a panda bear.
