High School Reunion
2 years till my 20th reunion. Didn't go to my 10th, but intrigued about going to my 20th. Curios how everybody turned out. Then again, I'm still closed with my close friends. Hell, I still chill with my high school best friend once a week for coffee.

My 10 year was in June or July. The planning was terrible and out of the ~5-600 people in my graduating class, 11 people showed up.
I doubt I'll make it to the 20 year

High school reunions are a lot less "dramatic" now that the majority of the world is on Facebook.
I didn't go to my 25th, but went as a friend's date to hers (same HS) a couple weeks ago and had a blast.

That's my thinking.
I made a point to stay connected with the folks I wanted to. If I want to see them, I can see them at any point. I don't need to drive home to do that, and I certainly don't want to make the drive to see people I never spoke with lol

My 10 year is next year...and they've already started a facebook group to help with planning and finding people! There was almost 700 in my senior class, and a third of them are already in the group!

Ditto. No one showed up to my college reunion because we "see" each other every day.
My 10-year HS reunion is next year and I plan to go. If I hadn't already moved back to my hometown, I wouldn't bother but since I'm here...

I went to my 25th this weekend. We opted for very low key and casual, and less than 50 showed up out of 400+, but those who did had a good time.

GO.
Every reunion, we have people who come who've never come before.
They always say, "I'm having a great time, I don't know why I didn't want to come!"
All that stupid HS drama was gone. We've had several deaths over the years - drownings, accidents, health, even a rather famous murder - so we don't compare circumstances so much as congratulate each other that we're still here!
Now, we had about 200 in our class, and most of us had known each other for years.
If you had a big class, you might not care.

I graduated a year early and I never get the information from either class.
Most of my friends moved way out of area and aren't interested.

I enjoyed my 10th and 20th reunions, and 2 years until my 30th, but I have absolutely no close friends from high school and haven't lived full time in my home town since I was 18. It's nice to reconnect with certain people, and once every 10 years is probably good enough.
But yes, a lot of the drama goes away and there were people I couldn't stand in high school who were perfectly lovely the last time I saw them and with whom I've stayed in touch (FB and real life) since.

I went to my 15th, and it was fun. Reconnected with a good friend that I had lost contact with over the years. I know a bunch of people went just to see what everyone looked like now, but seeing as I was 8 months pregnant at the time...
My 20 year reunion is in a few weeks. I am debating going, only because it is in the high school gym and my old school has combined all the different reunions into one big one- so the 5, 10, 15, 20, etc are all together. Oh, and they are charging $75 a couple for 2 drink tickets (beer or a wine cooler) plus light snacks. I think they turned the whole thing into a fundraiser! (I guess that's what you get when you go to a private high school).
So I'm not sure the $75 plus three hour drive is worth it for people I can "see" on facebook.

I believe my high school does this too (private school also), but classes can (and do) organize their own separate ones as well.
I will DEFINITELY be going to my 10 year (4 years from now, lol). I am actually going to my grade school 10 year reunion this Saturday. I know, I've gotten some funny looks about a grade school reunion from co-workers. We were a pretty tight knit group, and it actually seems to be pretty common in my area...I've heard about quite a few other NW side Catholic schools doing the same. I'm super excited!

I think a grade school reunion would be fun. I am from a small town where we went to one school for K-8, and then after that people split up to various high schools. Our 8th grade "graduation" was in 1986, so 2011 would have been 25 years, but by the time I realized it, the year was almost over. Also, I don't live anywhere near where I grew up, and I would not be a good candidate for organizing it, so I feel bad bringing up the idea if I can't really help with the planning. But maybe I could get in touch with some people who still live in the area and see if they are interested in doing anything in 2016 for our 30 year reunion.

I went to a kindergarten reunion once. When I was kid, there was no kindergarten in public schools, so kindergarten was a private thing, often run in churches or homes. I went to a morning kindergarten run by a woman in a small house in her backyard. We all loved it and her (and her husband, who would drop in occasionally).
A few years ago, spurred by the posting of our kindergarten "class" picture on facebook, we had a reunion with our teacher, at that point over 100 years old. It was fun, and very cool to do.

My 10 year reunion was in June and the turn out was horrible. I was. On the planning committee. We tried everything to get people to go but most didn't. I just think with all the social media now everyone can see what everyone else is up to and there is no need for reunions anymore.
