I hope that these dresses are quite a bit longer on you than the models... I didn't go to an SEC school, but the only one I really like is the second one. The other ones look too cheap to me. Sorry! I'm not trying to be rude, just honest. I think you'd be better off going with something far classier, especially at an SEC. Class overrides trendy any day.

I'm usually a bit reluctant to comment on recruitment outfit threads because I'm old, but I felt compelled to comment on the Round 3 dress. Perhaps it's different in person, but it looks a little too casual (to me) for an SEC Round 3 dress. Are the straps really just strips of wide black elastic? I think I'd try to find something else for that day.
But again, I'm old and I still use scrunchies, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Definitely not the pref one - no strapless, please! Not the red one - cheap looking. A dress on bid day? Do they suggest that in the rush booklet because you usually get a tee shirt at bid day.
Overall, for an SEC school, you need to step it up a notch.

hey girl! just from the way your days are listed and the fact that for round 1 you have to wear the shirt they give you at orientation... I think we're rushing at the same school! haha, i mean i could just be naive and not know that this is the set up for a lot of schools. but PM me ! how fun if we go to the same school
any ways, i like your dresses! i think that for preferentials you want something a little more dressy though. the way im approaching this is really trying to stand out, but look classy at the same time. there are thousands of girls that go through rush at my school. so i want to wear things that the active members can remember me by. even if they have to say "the girl wearing that one dress remember". as long as i pop into their heads. you know? if that makes any sense haha
i wish you the best from one PNM to another<33

First two are fine if you don't have to wear a shirt. Wear something a little more dressy for pref. I went to a much more relaxed school compared to SEC and we wear much more dressy things for pref. Check the link MaryPoppins posted also the PHC webpage or facebook may show/tell what you should wear and potentially even show ideas.

I would say no to all of them. You need to take the style up a notch. A sundress is a great idea if it is a nice sundress. The one you had from JC penny just looks a bit cheap. As for pref, strapless is not a great idea.Think dressy party with some sort of sleeve or one shoulder. Maybe something like this.

Good luck!

The first dress, the floral bandeau...you might want to reconsider that one. Strapless is not a good idea, it creates the possibility of a wardrobe malfunction. If budget is a concern, try a department store. I was in both Dillard's and Macy's last weekend and they were both having great sales. I bought a very nice dress at Dillard's for $62.00 and the original price had been $169. Also, look at boutiques like Francesca's. They have affordable dresses (less than $50). You have to be careful, but you can find some really cute dresses there that would be appropriate for recruitment and affordable.
While at Dillard's, I helped a young lady who will be going through recruitment at UK this year and she was picking out the trendy dresses in the junior department. I steered her to the nicer dresses, which were the same prices. I explained to her what was more appropriate. She caught on quickly.

This is a good example of what I mean by a "nice sundress". And as the posters above have stated, avoid the juniors section. Not only are the designs not as sophisticated, the materials and construction are often of poorer quality than the adult stuff (any many times cost just about as much).

I just did a search on the Dillard's website, for sale dresses under $50.00. There are plenty of options here. Even though the London Times dress is not on sale it is a perfect example of a recruitment dress for the SEC. Look in the woman's section also, don't just stick to the junior department.
