Hey guys im an incoming freshman at LSU and I really want to join a fraternity, but am unable to do so the first semester because my parents want me "prove myself" grade wise before I join one. Anyway I heard that some fraternities participate in spring recruitment. So I was just wondering how hard it is to get bids and how many people usually end up getting them compared to how many rush.
If your parents are dead set against you joining your first semester, I would still go through the initial rounds of rush, if that's feasible. If not, try to get to know as many guys from different fraternities as you can outside of rush.
The point is when you DO blow your parents away with that first semester 4.0 to not be a stranger to the Greek system on campus.
