On the Mississippi State IFC website - under recruitment - it says this:

Important August 2012 Dates

August 11: Move-In Day
August 13 & 15: Information Sessions
August 16: Early Signing Day
August 19-26: Recruitment Week

My question - which will undoubtedly be answered during orientation - is: what the heck is "Early Signing Day?"

My son tried googling it and looked all thru the IFC site to no avail...

appreciate any help with this!

From their 2010 recruitment guide:

Men that intend to accept a summer bid from a fraternity are to report to a destination TBA with student identification cards to verbally communicate to the IFC an intention to join a specified chapter. All summer bid guys must sign up for ICS before reporting to early signing. If a man is not signed up on ICS he will be turned away and told to go sign up online and then come back after. This will ensure that chapters will not have the financial responsibility for summer bid acceptors.
