rushing for the second time...
hey ladies (and maybe gentlemen):
i have an odd problem. i am going to be a sophmore in the fall and i plan to rush again. YES, you heard that right...AGAIN. formal rush last fall was my way of seeing if i belonged in a sorority. but it was a flop! and i didn't do too bad but i was cut two days before bid day, so i was a little heartbroken. but i am going to take a greek friend's advice and try again. so tell me, what should i do and how should i make my moves the 2nd time around? (other than being myself)

There are some threads in the recruitment forum about re-rushing. Though I'm not NPC or an Alabama alum, I say go for it with no regrets. And please enjoy your chapter colony experience. It's a once in a lifetime thing. You're lucky to have that.

Ask yourself: what is different about me/my situation THIS TIME AROUND that would make things turn out differently?

well i didn't know anything about the groups before and i kept putting myself beneath them. i thought they all had money and more chances. and being a first generation college student, i didnt feel like i measured up. but now that i know a good bit of them and i know that isn't the case. i was so wrong! so now i am more relaxed, knowledgeable about who they are/and do and i have more confidence (i know my spelling is bad forgive me!). so i think i have all that working for me now.

There's a thread on the Recruitment Stories forum about Strawberry Gloss's repeat recruitment; it's stickied and it's near the top. She gave some great insights at the end of it about why her second recruitment was successful.
There are also lots of threads about good conversation topics, gorgeous dresses, etc. in the sorority recruitment forum!

Does the campus community in general understand what SAI is for? Are there members of SAI that are also members of NPC sororities? Or have the current colony members tried to make the SAI chapter as "social" as possible and frown on dual membership? You may have to choose one or the other.

That campus would be fine with dual membership.

the community accept SAI how it is and would perfer for us to join with NPC as well as SAI. some of our officers are ADiPi. so i know i wont ever have to choose. thanks for the concern through.

hello ladies! i been doing a few things on campus this summer and didn't have time to get on...gotta keep those grades up. today i was talking to my soon-to-be SAI sister, charolette, who is also going to rush with me in the fall. she told me about how her older sister has been getting her "well educated" for rush by making her know every bit of info that she can find on each sorority. now i know that some girls will try and find you on facebook and things like that, so is it fair to study up as much as possible or is charolette getting obsessed?
p/s: charolette is on the ball. she can spout off anything you ask her about one or two them so far; national and local history.

There's nothing wrong with studying up on some sorority facts, especially if it helps get/continue conversation during rounds.
I wouldn't call it obsessed, just doing homework.
