It's not the cover, but...
My Dad's most famous picture has made Rolling Stone Magazine, in addition to being on the cover of a Buddy Holly tribute album. If you happen to be a Buddy Holly fan, you might also check out a book called "Hey Buddy" by Gary Moore which includes a chapter about my Dad.

If you happen to be in West Texas, you've been seeing this picture for years on the water tower in Lubbock. Of course, I missed that big unveiling ceremony too. I can't believe the party my family was just at in LA that I had to miss!

He's the photographer, and for Buddy Holly-files, he's a celeb in his own right. Buddy was famous (while alive) for such a short period time that there were very few pictures taken of him. His wife, Maria, has always liked this picture the most and has used it for all of his promotional materials over the years. This picture was taken just a few days before the concert in Clear Lake Iowa, the place where he died in the airplane clash.
Here's a picture from the concert in conjunction with his star on the walk of fame this week and the release of a fantastic tribute album.

^^^OMG I see Lyle Lovett in that photo!
I adore Buddy Holly (his cd is always in my rotation and on my iPod), there is nothing that hasn't already been written or said about him - he was a genius. The Beatles sure thought so. How cool about your dad!
ETA: is that Raul Malo, too? No, guess not, I'm streaming the album now. Brian Wilson singing Listen to Me...SWEET. And Jeff Lynne's version of Words of Love - can't wait for that.

It's a great album. Check out the book, Hey Buddy. It provides some really interesting insight.
