Going Alumni
I was just wondering how that works? I know you have to keep paying dues in order to be considered an alumni but I was just wondering how much do you have to pay? I know it's probably different with every sorority but do you guys know how much it is on average?

There are no "averages". Please contact the Headquarters of the sorority you belong to for specific answers to your questions.
ETA: after reading violetpretty's post, I take it that you are asking about what dues cost after you graduate? And not what it would cost to ... oh, nevermind. Just, nevermind.
Regardless of what you meant, the answer is that each organization is different in terms of policies and procedures.

Apologies, I saw that it was July, I did not notice it was 2010 and not 2011.

So you have actually joined a sorority since you posted this last month?

I was just wondering how much does it cost to be a part of a sorority at Michigan state university. I will really like to join but money might be one thing that could get in the way.

I am sorry. I didn't notice that you originally asked about costs in 2010.

FYI, you'll be an alumn a.
alumnus -- singular male
alumna -- singular female
alumni -- plural male or mixed male/female
alumnae -- plural female As others have said, this varies widely from org to org. Only your HQ or other reliable source in your own sorority can give you information worth anything.

You know, I get very very frustrated when someone from my chapter calls me an alumnus or even worse, an alumni.
I am not transgendered. I'm cool with being a woman. I'm also not two people, at least one of which a man. Please refer to me as an alumna or not at all.
Also, stop sending emails to a listserve of us and calling us "alum."
"Dear alum,"
STOP THAT.
