Have you ever gone to Convention (Boule, Conclave)?
What was it like?
How many times have you attended?
What was your favorite experience?
What city did it take place in, when you went?

Hey CutiePie--
I went to my sorority's National Convention this past fall for the first time. I was in my first semester of being an active sister. The convention really helped me truly understand what my sorority is all about and I've made friendships with girls from other chapters that will last a lifetime. This year's convention was in Kansas City, Missouri. Next year our convention will be in Sacramento, CA. I can't wait to go!!! My favorite experience of the entire convention was the closing ceremony. We broke off into small groups and talked about what Sigma Alpha meant to each of us. It was very emotional and special.

I went to my sorority's convention last summer in Miami, and it was awesome! I met more people than I could've possibly imagined, and the collegiate women all were so great! It almost made me want to be an undergraduate again. So many collegiates were so happy to have attended and learned so much! And I learned so much too. If you can go, I would highly advise you do! You'll never regret it...you will make so many new friends, and most of them, you talk like they've always been your friend. And it's also really great to see how your sorority/fraternity differs in other places!

I love Chi omega Convention! It is so special and fun. My favorite part is the Special initiation. Can you imagine over 1,000 people present for a very special young lady's initiation? Beautiful! also, great food and lots of laughs. One year, I sat next to a 90 year old woman who was still an advisor for a chapter. I don't know how she did it but she was amazing and very spunky. Also, I love singing songs. It just gives you the chills to hear so many women singing these songs that you have only sung with one group of people at your college.

I already mentioned this in the Alumni Involvement forum, but oh well.
I haven't been to Convention yet, but I'll probably go this summer. This year us AGDs are meeting up in Atlanta, GA on July 5-8!!!
I am currently accepting donations to the "SEND SANDY TO ATLANTA" fund... It'll cost an arm and a leg to fly from Hawaii.

Last year I attended our National Leadership Conference(San Fran,CA) and this year I will be at Disney for our 2001 Convention! I had the best time last year!I hear that KD convention rocks, I couldn't be more excited!
The idea of all those women together sharing stories and having a good time is the best. Plus you get the whole picture from National Council to individual chapters, such a rush!
This year will be the first time since 1985ish my chapter will be represented(we were just recolonized-Nov 2000!!!!) so I wouldn't miss it for the world!
I think everyone should attend a convention at least once, just for the experience!

I have had such awesome times at convention and conference. I love meeting sisters from all over North America and sharing experiences and ideas with them .
I have attended one dphie convention: June 98, Norfolk VA and RLC: August 99, St. Louis, MO. Unfortunately I didn't have the money to go to Miami last year or to Detroit just a few weeks ago, so I am eagerly waiting for next year' convention (I've heard it will either be in Philadelphia, DC, or Montreal - I'm hoping for the latter).

I've been to our district conclaves and leadership conferences; we have national conclave this june in memphis, so i'll be there for that! The district conclaves are a blast, going out w/ brothers from 5 or 10 other chapters; I really can't imagine the national one . . . should be off the chain

I attended a Regional Leadership Conclave in Kansas City, my first ever. I met a lot of Great Young men and Brothers.
It was very intense but very fun and had a ball. Being the maturest one there including International Leaders ( I DO NOT USE OLD) I had a lot of the Brothers hang with me. I did the best I could and kept up most of the time.
I really hated to see it break up and leave the meeting.
I only
had to drive 20 minutes to home but it was a long drive but at the same time short thinking about all of the Brothers that I had met and the interaction with each other. I have kept in touch with some that I got to know. To me one one the biggest honors was to be called at 11:00 in my room the last night and be invited to a party by fellow Brothers. If that isn't Broterhood I don't know what is. You see I am mature enough to have been their fathers.
I hope I will againg have the pleasure to attend and meet more of my Brothers, know matter what age.

I also posted a reply in the alum section, but I'll post here as well.
Sigma Sigma Sigma's convention is this summer and I am going! I am going to be my alum chapter's delegate, so I am stoked about all of the business meetings I am going to be attending. This will be my second time going as a delegate and second time going in general. My first convention was our Centennial Convention back in 1998, held in Tyson's Corner, VA. This year it is in Tampa, FL...ANY OTHER SIGMA SISTERS GOING?

Our National Convention happens yearly. Its hosted on rotation by the different chapters. I've been to the last three - Two in Norman, OK, and one in the Twin Cities (MN). The Convention is typically National business meetings, intra chapter sharing and sisterhood bonding. They are fun and well worth the time and lack of sleep. I can't really single out any moment. But its indescribable the feeling of sisterhood and acceptance that happens when we gather together. We all know that despite "growing-up" in different chapters, we are all sisters and have something to offer each other.

Alpha Phi Omega's National Convention was in Philadelphia last year. We celebrated our 75th Anniversary and took care of some legislative stuff. A fun time had by all!
