Unverisity of Tulsa recruitment?
Just found out that my cousin is planning on going through recruitment at UT. I'm thrilled to write my first recommendation (though I just found out that she's rushing and rush starts in like 2 1/2 weeks), and I'm hoping to get her recs to two other groups that I have a close friend and coworker as members of.
How competitive is it?
Are recs essential?

kddani, how wonderful!! Of course we are hoping for a KD story in the end. Tulsa is such a beautiful campus. From what I have heard from Tulsa alums, I don't think TU recruitment is super cutrhroat, but I would get them for each if you can--it can only help.

i would agree with katmandu-not a cutthroat recruitment, but they would know what recs are and would appreciate them.i lived in tulsa for about 12 years, and some of my kids former classmates attended u of tulsa and pledged sororities.
good luck to your cousin dani!! please keep us updated.

Thanks. Turns out that I was looking at an outdated recruitment page. Recruitment starts the 20th! I can get my rec in on time but unfortunately doubt that I could get other people to get their recs for other groups in on time.
I'm so excited for her. I'd be thrilled if she went KD (and will send her all kinds of stuff!) but will be happy for her no matter what she chooses.

Kddani, if these other recs are from personal friends of yours, I would go ahead and ask if they could send one on a quick turn around. If you have a resume and pics ready to go, they might be able to send one off very quickly. Tulsa is small, and a rec coming in a few days prior to recruitment will still probably be read and used, since they aren't dealing with 1500 pnms.

yes! and since so many of the sororities have their rec. forms online and those can be emailed-they can be there "virtually" in the click of a button.

Brief update:
Recruitment started last night. The girls went to all six houses then it goes to four today. My cousin is having a lot of fun - which I think is the most important thing. She said some girls were so worked up they were crying! (I think that's a bit excessive on the first night!). I'm happy to hear that she is enjoying the process, and even happier to hear that she likes KD

Do you know if she ended up going KD? I am eagerly awaiting the results of this year's recruitment at Tulsa (I graduated last year). I'm sure wherever she ends up, she will be happy, because all the houses have great qualities! Of course, I can understand you wanting her to go KD more than the other houses!
