University of Kentucky Recruitment
Hello! I am a long time lurker and an active sorority member at UK. This is just to let everyone know (because I bet there are some lurking UK PNM's on here, or at least there will be and they'll hopefully have mastered the search function by then) that you can now register for recruitment!
The dates are August 14th-20th and here is the link: http://ukpanhellenic.com/page.php?page_id=17744
The video and packet are old but most of the information still applies with the exception that Sigma Kappa has closed and Alpha Phi will be participating in full on formal recruitment this year, as they recently got their charter!
Sign up and you can PM me if you have any questions about UK!

Also, I have been keeping up with the "incorrect advice" thread...but I promise my advice is good as I am currently an active UK sorority member
Get recs if you can. They can only help. This isn't Ole Miss or Alabama but it is still competitive especially if you aren't from the typical Louisville, Lexington, Cincinnati area schools.
Also, start looking for your white bid day dress NOW!!! They will only be harder to find come summer especially if you live in the aforementioned areas.

Are there any specifics on it - like no strapless?

1. White. Not off white, not cream, but white. I always thought it a lovely tradition and wished my school did the same.
2. OP, I LOVE your user name.
3. GO BIG BLUE!!!!

Seriously, didn't even think to mention that but WHITE WHITE is the only option there. There's nothing like hundreds of girls in their white dresses running to their houses with their bids in hand on a (usually) blisteringly hot day in August
I love my user name too, I wish I could be as awesome as my favorite fictional character.
Oh yeah. GO CATS.

I will be coming in as a sophomore in the fall. I am wondering what the best way for me to go about recruitment is? I don't have any alumni relation and am wondering what the best way is for me to obtain a recommendation? Thank you!

What city are you coming from? If there is an Alumnae Panhellenic in your area, that would be the first place I would start (and I would start ASAP)!
In addition there are many threads in the recruitment forum about how to obtain recommendations. I would highly suggest that you really do seek them out, read them, and heed their advice.

Glad you think so, happy to help.
I wish I wasn't still active though because I'd love to share my affiliation and introduce myself on my org's forum. Once I graduate I will for sure
Edited: I don't wish I wasn't active for one minute...that came out wrong. I never want to graduate!!!!!!

I hear that. I owe Penn State so much money that I'm considering giving up my first born to pay for the tuition (lol). I wouldn't have traded my college experience for all the money in the world. It is good to have you on here to help the ladies of Kentucky. Good for you! I'm excited to see various members who are currently active in Greek life give out information and advice regarding recruitment. Keep up the good work!
