Pledged for life
OK, I know. I know,I know hazing is wrong.
Anyway my question is if your soror/frat gets in trouble for hazing would you stand by thier side and have thier back no matter the outcome? I am not talking about hazing were they put someone in the hospital or anything like that. Just swinging alittle wood.
I am asking because a nearby chapter had members expelled for hazing. The members still wear letters and everything. I am cool with them, They are some great sorors and great people. They just are young and got caught up with the whole paper vs. made thing. (pledging)
Would you still be cool with expelled members repping your org ? Think about if it was someone in your chapter, or even your LS/LB? If they have not done anything too crazy or took funds from your chapter, I say once a member always a member.

I'm curious. Are you in a sorority?

I like this new word, "exspelled." The members don't actually get kicked out; the letters in their names are just rearranged.

If you fraternize (no pun intended) with expelled members, be aware that you are taking big risks. Your own chapter might come under negative attention because of it - especially if it gets out that you guys are okay with your former sorors still wearing letters.

In my book "Swinging wood" IS doing something "a little crazy".
If someone was expelled and still wore letters, then yes I would have a problem with that.
If they were expelled and stopped wearing letters, would I still be friends with them? Possibly. I do understand that people make mistakes and can be forgiven for them. But I would have a real problem if they were disrespecting my letters by continuing to wear them even after they were no longer members.

Like Sensuret said, it's a very dangerous game hanging with expelled members. I can't speak for your org (peeked and saw you repping SGRho) so I don't know what went behind the decision to expel the members from the organization, but those decisions aren't made lightly. (Nobody went to the hospital but got expelled swinging wood...hmmm).
Let's say this, I would never tell them if we were having a line.

Every org is different and some may have no tolerance policies these days, which could indeed cause members to be expelled for "swinging a little wood."

Which is true, but I still had to question.
Not everybody would come on a public forum and say, (in a nutshell) "They got expelled because they 'swang' a little wood. I mean nobody went to the hospital. So I had to hmm, especially since this is being told by somebody that was not there.

Wait can't be doing that. Stop flashing back.

If they're expelled, they should not be wearing letters at all until they are reinstated.

OK, I hear what you all are saying. But I still don't have an issue with them wearing letters at all. They earned thier letters and I will never tell them that they can not rep the org that thay hold so dear. They earned the right to wear those letters the hard way. You members of BGLO know how easy it is to get caught up in the paper vs made thing when you are young. So think about it as if it was your LB or LS. The person you crossed the sands with, the person you party with, the person you do community service with and most of all the person that has always had your back. If you are a good soror that love the org and just made a mistake and get booted I will still show you love. I don't think we should turn our backs on a soror or frat because of a mistake.

This is craziness. If they are expelled they had better not let me see them in my letters. The.End. ALL of my LS' are my sisters. They mean the world to me. They will always be my LS but, they'd better not let me see them with my letters on if they are no longer a member.
Why you would show so much 'hood for someone who was stupid enough to haze...and get CAUGHT is beyond me. Your priorities aren't straight. What about the bad position they put the organization 'they hold so dear' in by getting caught? They don't respect your sorority. Stop being silly. If you want to buck for them go ahead. It's apparent that we can't tell you what to do. But don't be surprised if you come under suspicion too.

Hmmm, There is getting caught up (repping and telling war stories of what you went through) and then there is CAUGHT UP.
That's why it is hard for me to have sympathy for your sorors because of my experience in the BGLO.
Unfortunately I don't know the story behind the why (know only what you have told us...which may have only been told to you since you yourself haven't been suspended) but from my experience the ones that get CAUGHT UP are the ones that constantly roam from chapter to chapter asking the infamous "You got some boys on line?"

They (and the chapters that are foolish enough to fall for it) need a lesson in POLICIES and PROTOCOL.
