Rituals specifically for alumnae
Does your GLO have any rituals specifically for your alumnae? If so, when are they performed and by whom?

Yes, at alumnae meetings by alumnae. It's ritual...can't be anymore specific than that!

I'm not trying to pry. I respect the privacy of all of the other GLOs, which is why I kept my questions so vague. Thanks for all your responses, though. That's exactly what I wanted to know!

Well the existence of the Ritual is not a secret to undergraduate members but the content is not revealed until you go through the ceremony as a graduating senior (or older alumnus).

You know, I'm not sure we do! I haven't experienced it, but I've only been an alumna for a few months. Hmm...

There you go stealing my thunder! The Alumnus Ceremony is a private Ritual that marks the transition to alumnus membership. They are performed by a certain number of alumni usually for graduating seniors, but the brothers going through the Ritual may also be older alumni because it was not instituted until 1992, if I remember correctly. It can be performed on a variety of occasions, but my chapter usually holds it for graduating seniors right after spring Initiation.

We also have a lot of ceremonies that are not considered ritual but are included in our ritual book like for 25th and 50th anniversaries and Memorial services. These are not ritual and are therefore open to non-members, but they are meant specifically for alumnae.
