Mad Men - Season Finale tonight

I hadn't seen a thread about MM which is curious. I think it's one of the best shows on TV. Very strong and distinctive characters -

Tonight is the season finale, which is frustrating because it just started up again in August.

Does anyone else watch the show?

I watch and love "Mad Men." In fact, I was Betty Draper this Halloween.

I did miss a few episodes, so I guess I will look forward to catching up. I can't believe the season finale is tonight. I feel like the show just started.

I started a thread at the beginning of season 3, and no one responded. Do you think that Henry Francis is serious about marrying Betty? "Mad Men" is my favorite show, no question!

I would say that I love the show, but that is the kiss of death (RIP, Pushing Daisies) so . . .um, yeah.

***SPOILER ALERT***

What a crazy episode.

I'm very curious to see how they'll rebuild the company... and I'm so happy Joan's back!! She's probably my favorite character on the show. When everyone was confused and Roger went to make the phone call, I knew they were going to bring her back. She knows, like, everything.

I also can't believe Betty and Don are actually getting divorced. That kind of came out of nowhere. I really hope she doesn't marry that icky politician. I just felt so bad for their kids... as a child of divorced parents, I know how awful that talk can be. Though they're both to blame (and they both have done their fair share of cheating), I sympathize with Don. He may not be able to keep it in his pants, but he never legitimately wanted to leave her for another woman. Betty's acting like a brat, IMHO. I don't know why she made such a big deal out of the Dick Whitman stuff. Yeah, that's pretty crazy, but it's not a deal-breaker.

Finally, go Peggy for sticking up for yourself!! Although for a minute I though she and Don were going to hook up. Wouldn't that be weird, but also kind of sweet, if they ended up together?

LOVED the finale!!! I watched it twice! I think it really sets up next season to be awesome!

As for Betty and Henry, she didn't look very excited on the plane, but then, she never looks very excited about anything. Have we ever seen her smile with abandon? Woman needs to let loose, she's wound WAY too tight!

I cannot wait to see the progression of the new Sterling, Cooper, Draper and Price. They brought the best and most interesting characters with them, including Joan. Good that they cut the dead weight. I wonder if they'll bring back Salvatore as art director?

I think they are rerunning it tonight - check amctv.com under the madmen section. If not, it's on On Demand on cable.

Whew! It is so good, I may just have to watch it again! It is that satisfying!!!

They seemed to really make a point that Sal wouldn't be back--the tobacco company that asked for him to be fired was one of the accounts the new company is bringing with them, and then that scene with the art department door was like:
"We can't get the art department door open!"
Audience: "Call Sal! Call Sal!"
Don: Tries keys and then kicks down door and audience's hopes.

That makes me sad, because his story is so interesting. I guess there could be a lot of cast changes under way: Ken and Paul, even Betty, since the show's really about the (m)ad man, Don.

But on the other hand, Joan!!! She seemed the sparkliest we've seen her in ages.

Boo! I hadn't thought about that, but your right. I so wish he was coming back, his story line is great and he, along with the others they brought to the new firm, are the best characters in the show!

Maybe they'll find a way to redeem him with that creep from the tobacco co.

I thought the finale was fantastic! I love this show, I got into over the summer when OnDemand had both seasons one and two available.
So glad Joan is back! I'm wondering since not everyone went with, will that set things up so that we'll see more competition between the new agency and the prior agency in future episodes. And without an art department, i.e. Sal, how are they going to do make print ads? I realize Harry is pretty important with the media ads, but did I miss the part where he learned how to draw? Maybe they could bring Sal back and not bring him to presentations since no one can come to the office anyway.
