Death of a Sister

Pardon my crash, but Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's chapter of Tri-Sigma recently lost a sister. Her name was Francesca Martino and she died Monday in a motorcycle accident. She was only 23 and a senior.

Oh my goodness! I advised them for a short while and cannot imagine what they are going through as a chapter right now.

My thoughts are with them, her family and everyone who was blessed to know Francesca.

Francesca was AMAZING. I was at Eta Tau's installation, and she was so warm and funny. She was so excited when she joined the colony, she sent friend requests to any Sigma she could find on Facebook. That's enthusiasm that you rarely find. I was so sorry to hear she had passed away. Eta Tau, her family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

It's so sad when any sister passes away, but one so young. My thoughts go out to her chapter sisters at this time. Lean on each other and you will be able to get through this!

Francesca was an amazing girl. Ive known her since she was little. I visit ERAU twice a year and she would always run up to me and give me a hug. She loved her sorority and riding her bike. The last time I saw her she had gotten a pair of PURPLE chaps with fringe, because she loved that color so much. She rode her bike every where.

She was SUPER involved with the university not only with Tri-Sigma but with SG, Track and Field, Cross Country, Mentoring programs etc. Heart of an angel. She had huge plans to work with NASA one day, she was so smart, one of the smartest people I know.

Although an accident it could have been prevented as the driver "did not see her" when she was on her bike that morning. I know her family and best friend are hurt over this accident. She left behind a younger sister, mother and father-- and all her Tri Sigma sisters and friends. She will be missed!
