Penn State: Four Sororities Will Have New Locations
Four Penn State sororities are relocating. They will be closer to the other sororities and in locations that the article in the campus paper implies are more desirable. So, Penn State GCers: sounds like all the sororities will now be in the same general area, is that right? And is that good, bad, or something in between?

Excerpts from article:
Sororities Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sigma Sigma Sigma, Alpha Delta Pi and Delta Zeta have moved out of East Halls and are moving into various dormitories in South Halls.
Alpha Kappa Alpha: From Bigler Hall to Haller Hall
Sigma Sigma Sigma: From Stone Hall to Cross Hall
Alpha Delta Pi: From Hastings Hall to Hibbs Hall
Delta Zeta: From Hastings Hall to Cooper Hall

I'm so old that I wasn't at PSU when any sororities were in East Halls. I'm sure it would have influenced my choice, though. Given two sororities with equally great girls, the South Halls sorority would have won out every time. I had enough trouble getting back to Cooper after a long night at parties or bars!
The only concern I have is for the poor independents in Cooper - there are already ASA and KKG there, now DZ. I wouldn't want to be one of 10-12 independents in the entire dorm. I was on a sorority floor back when ZTA was tiny, and the ZTAs were GREAT, but I still wouldn't want to be in a building with all Greeks when I was a freshman...

If it's that few independents in the building at this point, won't the sororities be able to fill those spots?

I think this is so exciting because the east halls dorms are so small and it is ALL freshman pretty much and I think the better location is going to be great esp since there is talk about adding a greek loop bus that goes to the pollock/south dorms (only the blue loop bus does that right now and you have to ride the whole way around campus and out to the stadium so it is easier to walk. It will be helpful if it goes through
