What Greek sterotype REALLY makes you mad?
I'll start, lol. I hate it when people who have never even had real reactions with sorority women say that we're all stupid sluts! Those people are so annoying.

Apparently being Greek means you know where to buy drugs. I was just hanging out by my school wearing letters and this guy comes up to me and asks where to buy weed.

This is 10 kinds of funny!!! I've heard them all...members are "stuck-up" "raunchy" "hood" Whatever...but it all boils down to how you carry yourself as a person. I mean you must have had some EXCEPTIONAL qualities or you wouldn't have been chosen.

If there were a Greek stereotype that was completely false and baseless, it would make me angry.
Unfortunately all stereotypes have a beginning and there are Greeks that feed all kinds of stereotypes.

We don't wear letters much, but I have and when I do I had people automatically assume we party and get shit faced. What they don't know is we're a fraternity with both men and women. We're not a social greek letter organization.

To me, this sounds like you're making an implication that SOCIAL Greek organizations party and get wasted all the time. A Greek member, making a stereotypical statement about social Greeks, in a thread about the worst Greek stereotypes. How ironic

It's not me making the assumption. I was saying that people assume that all greek letter organizations are the same. I just said that because we're not social. I really don't give a shit what it sounds like to you.

Whoa, calm down.
But you basically said... "People assume all we do is party and drink, but they don't understand that we're not a social greek organization." If that's not what you intended to make it sound like, fine. But that's definitely how it came across to me.

It just sucks because usually there's only a small grain of truth to those lies.

Oh lordy, there are so many! "Sorostitutes," snobby rich girls with Daddy's credit card, airheads. I've had people laugh in my face when I've told them that the all-Greek and all-sorority GPA's at most schools are higher than the all-campus GPA's. And yeah, we do like to have socials--but that's not what we're all about!

I'm just glad my sorority pin was voted the prettiest by the Smithsonian and was also designed by Tiffany's.
